2 Monday 19th April 2010 SOCCER HOTLINES | FFV Boardroom Battles goalweekly.com Dunkerley strikes back By Craig MacKenzie FFV president Tony Dunkerley wasted no time in reacting to last week’s lead story in Goal! Weekly by sending a rallying letter to the federation’s stakeholders. Dunkerley’s letter said that an urgent board meeting would be convened to “discuss these issues, in order to resolve this matter once and for all.” The letter was prompted by a series of claims that at least three members of the board have lost confi dence in Dunkerley who was elected as president in 2006 and announced last week that he would seek another term. GW also was told of disquiet among some zone representatives and standing committee members over the manner in which the federation’s March AGM was conducted. We wrote last week that members of Dunkerley’s board had leaked informa- tion to us and club administrators and Dunkerley’s letter addressed this issue from the outset. “These allegations are deeply disturb- ing,” Dunkerley wrote, “and require further investigation.
