These are the aims for managing local flood risk. The objectives have been grouped in three main ways: by reducing risk, avoiding increasing risk or accepting risk by maintaining current levels of management. Objectives Many organisations, such as Scottish Water and energy companies, actively maintain and manage their own assets including their risk from flooding. Where known, these actions are described here. Scottish Natural Heritage and Historic Environment Scotland work with site owners to manage flooding where appropriate at designated environmental and/or cultural heritage sites. SNH Assessment of Potential Seascape, Landscape and Visual Impacts and Provision of Design Guidance This document sets out SNH’s Landscape and Visual Impact appraisal of each of the Draft Plan Option (DPO) areas presented in the above consultation and the opportunities for mitigating these, through windfarm siting and design. Due to its size, we are submitting it separately from our main response to the draft Plan. We had hoped to be able to submit this earlier within the consultation period and apologise that this was delayed slightly. Our advice is in three parts: Part 1. In late spring 2018 SNH were invited to participate as part of a Project Steering group to input to the next Sectoral Plan for Offshore Wind Energy by Marine Scotland. SNH landscape advisors with Marine Energy team colleagues recognised this as a real opportunity to manage on-going, planned change from offshore wind at the strategic and regional level, to safeguard nationally important protected landscapes and distinctive coastal landscape character. It also reflected our ethos of encouraging well designed sustainable development of the right scale in the right place and as very much part of early engagement. -

The two monthly figures shown are the actual number of ROC's issued and this figure expressed as a percentage of the the ROC's which could be issued if the output was continually at the at the maximum DNC value, without interruption, for the complete month. The cumulative annual figures are included, where the figures given against each location are the actual number of ROC's issued during the year, the possible number of ROC's which could be issued if the output was continually at the maximum DNC value and actual output expressed as a percentage of this figure. This SEA 7 study is the seventh in a series planned by the DTI which will, in stages, cover the whole of the UK. 1.2 The SEA 7 area is shown on the map on the following page. In 2019 the country's power networks went for more than a fortnight without burning a single lump, thought to be the first time since the 1880s. Coal was supplying only 2% of the country's energy needs. Britain’s demand for electricity is forecast to tumble to a fifth below normal levels due to the spring bank holiday and the shutdown of shops, bars and restaurants mandated by the coronavirus lockdown. National Grid is braced for electricity demand to fall to 15.6GW on Saturday afternoon – a level usually associated with the middle of the night – and continue to drop even lower in the early hours of Sunday morning.
