Exemplary schools are performing in the top 10% of the 665 high schools statewide, with no underperforming student groups. In 2017, Annawan High School was awarded a bronze medal in the U.S. News & World Report “National Rankings Best High Schools”. In 2017, NICHE School Rankings released its rankings of “Illinois Best School Districts”. Annawan CUSD 226 was ranked the 40th best school district in the State of Illinois. Individual Student National & State Achievements Illinois State Scholars are the top 10% of seniors in the state recognized for their outstanding academic achievement: o Class of 2020, 3 out of 22 seniors were recognized. o Class of 2019, 4 out of 28 seniors were recognized. Class of 2018, two students earned 1st team All-State Recognition in their respective sport. Class of 2018, one student signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball at Arizona State University. A All cooperative sports compete in the Lincoln Trail Conference. Golf, cross country, baseball, softball, and track & field are IHSA Class1A. We are generally IHSA Class 2A in football, but fluctuates with student enrollment.
