Tourism Introduction Zadar County encompasses marine area from Island Pag to National Park Kornati and land area of Velebit, i.e. the central part of the Croatian coastline. This is the area of true natural beauty, inhabited from the Antique period, rich with cultural heritage, maritime tradition and hospitality. Zadar County is the heart of the Adriatic and the fulfilment of many sailors' dreams with its numerous islands as well as interesting and clean underwater. It can easily be accessed from the sea, by inland transport and airways. Inseparable unity of the past and the present can be seen everywhere. Natural beauties, cultural and historical monuments have been in harmony for centuries, because men lived in harmony with nature. As a World rarity, here, in a relatively small area, within a hundred or so kilometres, one can find beautiful turquoise sea, mountains covered with snow, fertile land, rough karst, ancient cities and secluded Island bays. This is the land of the sun, warm sea, olives, wine, fish, song, picturesque villages with stone- made houses, to summarise - the true Mediterranean. History of Tourism in Zadar Tourism in Zadar has a long tradition. The historical yearbooks record that in June 1879 a group of excursionists from Vienna visited Zadar, in 1892 the City Beautification Society was founded (active until 1918), and in 1899 the Mountaineering and Tourism Society "Liburnia" was founded. At the beginning of the XX century, in March 1902 hotel Bristol was opened to the public (today's hotel Zagreb). Most important period for the development of tourism in Zadar County lasted from the 60's - 80's of the 20th century, when the majority of the hotel complexes were erected.

PROSTORNI IDENTITETI OTOKA PAGA I JUŽNOGA PODVELEBITSKOG PRIMORJA SPATIAL IDENTITIES OF PAG ISLAND AND THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE VELEBIT LITTORAL LENA MIROŠEVIĆ, BRANIMIR VUKOSAV Odjel za geografiju, Sveučilište u Zadru /Department of Geography, University of Zadar UDK 911.37:711(497.5)(210.7Pag) Primljeno / Received: 2009-06-30 Izvorni znanstveni članak Original scientific paper Prostorni identitet koncept je koji ponajprije podrazumijeva posljedice percepcije prostora, svijesti o prostoru i poistovjećivanja s prostorom, odnosno doživljaj kolektivne pripadnosti određenom području ili mjestu. Ključne riječi: prostorni identitet, vernakularna regija, Pag, Južno podvelebitsko primorje, Hrvatska The concept of spatial identity is a direct result of spatial perception, spatial conscience and identification with space, or rather an individual experience of a collective affiliation to a certain area or place. It is usually a consequence of a variety of historical-geographical, economic, natural and other factors, features and trends.

zadar.hr CAMPING ZADAR REGION Dear campers, The longest stretch of the marvelous, very picturesque and well-indented coast, and also the greatest number of islands of the “Thousand Island Coast” belong to Zadar County. Among them are Kornati National Park and Telašäica Nature Park as a micronesian series of glistening jewels. The Zadar region borders with four Croatian national parks: Plitvice, Paklenica, Kornati and Krka. Today Zadar County is among the most famous camping destinations in Croatia, with more than one hundred big and small auto camps that offer quality with modern technical features, ecological certifi cates and adequate programs of animation for families and the young. Auto camp „Zaton“ Nin is thus the fi rst and only Croatian camp with Supercamp features, according to the standards of the German ADAC and the prestigious chain „Leading auto camps“. Camp „Šimuni“ on the island of Pag and „Soline“ in Biograd na moru are proud members of the Croatian camping brand „TOP CAMPS“, while the naturist camp „Sovinje“ on the island of Pašman is one of the remaining pearls designed for nude camping lovers in Croatia. We point out to campers the new and fast motorway that makes it possible to quickly and easily reach the sea. The Zadar region is situated between the mountains and the Adriatic seacoast. It is characterized by various landscapes full of contrast, an excellent gastronomic offer and hospitable inhabitants. It is an area where culture, art and tradition are combined. A great number of hours of sun, gentle Mediterranean climate, mountain scenario, karst phenomenology, and the Adriatic coast known throughout the world for its beauty are good reasons for new experiences and an ideal vacation rich with varied activities.

  • (Lamiaceae): a Revision of the Distribution of This Critically Endangered Taxon in Bosnia and Herzegovina
PHYTOLOGIA BALCANICA 25 (2): 175 – 180, Sofia, 2019 175 Scutellaria orientalis subsp. pinnatifida (Lamiaceae): a revision of the distribution of this critically endangered taxon in Bosnia and Herzegovina Semir Maslo Primary School, Lundåkerskola, Gislaved, Sweden, e-mail: [email protected] Received: February 20, 2019 ▷ Accepted: August 19, 2019 Abstract. This paper presents a survey of Scutellaria orientalis subsp. pinnatifida in Bosnia and Herzegovina and includes distribution data and a map of localities in Bosnia and Herzegovina based on a revision of herbarium specimens from SARA, literature data and in-field observations. After 40 years, the occurrence of Scutellaria orientalis subsp. pinnatifida in Bosnia and Herzegovina is confirmed and its distribution is extended to a new locality. The paper presents a short morphological description and photographs of the taxon. Besides its precise distribution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the paper gives information about distribution of this taxon in other Balkan countries and Romania. Given the present occurrence in the area, the taxon should be considered as Critically Endangered (CR) in the updated version of the Red List of the Federation of B&H. • Mitske Predaje I Legende Južnovelebitskog Podgorja
Mitske predaje i legende južnovelebitskog Podgorja Mirjana Trošelj U spomen arheologu Anti Glavičiću During her extensive fi eld research, which has been taking place since 1977, of mirila (unusual stone monuments) in the southern part of Velebit, Croatia, the author also made notes on the oral tradition and legends of the local population in south Podgorje (the Mor- laki). Th is paper contains mythical, historic, and etiological lore and legends; two mythical songs; and a text on the belief in the magic symbolism of the circle. Th ese previously unpubli- shed texts are presented in the original dialect of south Podgorje.
