THE THIRD PIG Project Overview The Third Pig is a rustic bar and restaurant themed after the Three Little Pigs fairy tale. The interior is intended to resemble the third pig's house of bricks. Passing inside the glass facade with its big wooden door, the visitor will find himself seemingly transported to somewhere in the countryside. On top of lots of exposed red brick, there are hanging light bulbs and flowers, and even a fireplace complete with a chimney in one corner. Project Details 1. Type of Business: Bar and restaurant 2. Open Date: 07/2015 3. Concept: Inspired by the childhood tale of the Three Little Pigs. 4. Location: Soi Phahon Yothin 20, Chom Phon, Bangkok 5. A glass facade with a big wooden door marks the entrance to The Third Pig. Stepping inside the restaurant, the visitor will find himself seemingly transported to somewhere in the countryside. BURIRAM CASTLE Project Overview New lifestyle community mall Buriram Castle in Buriram Province was developed by Newin Chidchob, the owner of Buriram United Football Club, who has also created and established a number of other landmarks in the area. The design of the mall is modeled after Khmer village settlements which thrived around the stone castle in a bygone era. The aim is to develop Buriram into a tourist center of Khmer arts and culture. Visitors will be able to shop for souvenirs developed by the Buriram brand located right at the entrance. Expected tourist numbers are around 2.5 million visitors per year. Project Details 1. Type of Business: Lifestyle community mall 2. Open Date: 13/02/2015 3. Concept: The design is modeled after Khmer village settlements. 4. Location: Buriram Province, Thailand 5. Target Customer: Local residents and tourists. 6. Gross Floor Area: 35,268 sqm 7. Investment Cost: 370 million baht (10.4 million USD) 8. Nearby are a number of landmarks established by owner Newin Chidchob, including the I-Mobile Stadium, a FIFA standard football stadium; the Buriram United International Circuit (BRIC), also known as the Chang International Circuit, and Amari Buriram United, Thailand's first football-themed hotel. The creation of “Thunder Castle" was achieved as a reconstruction of a Khmer Hindu temple complex, which were originally built by artisans who hand carved blocks of stone with a delicate and meticulous arrangement of every piece. It was also perfectly calculated so that the sunset shines through the door exactly as at the Phanom Rung Castle. Based on the assertion that gambling was a social evil that impoverished the population, encouraged crime, and retarded economic development, successive regimes sought to reduce and regulate the scope for legal gambling. This was expressed most concretely through a series of increasingly restrictive and punitive laws, which prohibited many popular forms of gambling and subjected others to strict licensing. Consequently, there was an increase in illegal gambling. In essence, gambling went from being a state acceptable activity to one that was criminal unless conducted within certain strict parameters.

Many of these voters are migrant workers who spend much of their time working in Greater Bangkok, yet remain legal residents of their home provinces. This article argues that Thailand’s political polarization could be reduced if many of these “urbanized villagers” either took up formal residence in the capital city, or were encouraged to share in the creation of new small- scale urban communities in their places of birth.

    KHMER TEMPLES OF NORTHEAST THAILAND: A PROPOSED PLAN FOR TOURISM DEVELOPMENT Assist.Prof.Dr.Thirachaya Maneenetr Head of Tourism Department Faculty of Management Science, Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen 40002, Thailand. [email protected] Abstract. This research is aimed at studing the Khmer temples of Northeast Thailand in order to propose a plan for tourism development. Seven Khmer temple sites were chosen, located in four provinces in the northeastern area of Thailand. These include Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin and Si Sa Ket Provinces; and the temple sites of Prasat Phimai, Prasat Phanom Rung, Prasat Mueang Tam, Prasat Ta Muean Group, Prasat Si Khoraphum, Prasat Sa Kamphaeng Yai and Prasat Phra Wihan. From this study, the researcher attempted to use the concept of cultural tourism as a key in the conservation of the value and significance of the architectural heritage and cultural landscape of Khmer sites. The cultural tourism approach also attempts to take into account both tangible and intangible values surrounding the sites for sustainable tourism. The objective of the study is to promote the significance of Thailand’s Khmer sites with a view to improving accessibility for visitors. The aim is to provide the local community a well managed interpretation and conservation program for each important site and highlight their unique characteristics in a way that will help preserve them for future generations. A further aim of this study is to better present the Khmer sites of Northeast Thailand as part of a cultural panorama and to create a management plan for cultural tourism and sustainable tourism development.

This research is conducted in order to (1) study the loyalty level towards football clubs and the corresponding political supports expressed towards the football club executives and (2) examine the relationship between such demographic factors as gender, age, educational level, occupation, income, duration of being a fan, as well as loyalty to the football club and the aforementioned political supports, by collecting data from fans of five football clubs competing in the Thai League during the 2016 season.
