LPA Homeschool Program

Labelle Performing Arts is pleased to introduce its Homeschool Dance Program. This program is meant to be an introduction to dance and dance concepts to encourage interest and support in the love of the arts. Our teachers are Miss Emily Carff and Mr. Michael Burton. Our contact person is Mrs. Cindy Carff. Miss Emily is a Pensacola native and a homeschooled senior currently dual enrolled at Pensacola State College. She has been dancing for 11 years; the last six years she has danced either on LPA’s Professional division or on their competitive dance team, LPAC. She has been a dance assistant teacher for 3 years assisting with Creative Movement, Pre- /Tap, and Ballet 1. Mr. Michael Burton is LPA’s resident Hip Hop instructor and performer for LPA. Starting at the age of seven in Newark, NJ, Michael picked up the art of freestyle Hip-Hop dancing. Over the years, Michael has adapted to the constantly changing culture of street style dancing to learn, and now teach, Hip-Hop styles such as b-boying (), popping, locking, waving, krumping, jerking, and shuffling. Michael's broad knowledge of Hip-Hop dance styles and techniques allows him to not only instruct moves, but also educate the next generation of Hip-Hop dancers about the origin of the Hip-Hop/Freestyling culture. He is currently a student at the University of West Florida and the youth pastor for Brownsville Assembly of God. Ms. Cindy is one of the office staff at LPA and a homeschooling mom of four children. This program has been a dream of hers and thanks to the gracious support of LPA’s owner, Jeannie Beasley, we have a chance to make it a reality. You may direct questions directly to Ms. Cindy at LPA on Thursday evenings and Friday mornings at LPA, 944-5650 or via email [email protected].
