2Dagar.35Artister:1Helg 2DAGAR.35ARTISTER:1HELG PRESSMEDDELANDE 2010-06-21 Nattklubb 2.35:1 anordnar en efterlängtad uppföljare till förra årets säsongsavslutning 2dagar.35timmar:1 fest. Den 2-3 juli blir det åter två dagars fest utan dess like, denna gång med titeln 2dagar.35artister:1helg. Under det senaste året har klubben etablerat ett starkt internationellt rykte och lockat till sig en mängd världskända djs. På avslutningsfesten återvänder bland andra SIS, Steffi och Jack Schidt. Dessutom förhöjs festen av nya dignitärer som Detroittechnons fader Kevin Saunderson och Berlins Nick Höppner. Med en ansenlig skara tunga djs och artister, konstinstallationer, 50 000 watts högtalare, kolsyrekanoner, livespelningar och en mängd andra påhitt blir det ett party utöver det vanliga. 2.35:1s säsongsavslutning börjar kl. 17.00 med balkaninfluerade och galet svängiga FestiByn på Bistro Berns. Därefter fortsätter firandet nere på 2.35:1s klubb för att sedan vandra upp till frukost på Terrassen. Senare under lördagen tar festen vid i exklusivare skala i ett av rummen på Berns Hotel och därefter invigs Stora Salongens sommarklubb. Ett sista farväl till källaren tas nere på 2.35:1 under en efterfest som pågår fram till kl. 05:00. Hootchy Kootchy, Pom Pom Parlour, Havanna Club, Ulrich Bermsjö, Miss Inga med flera lovar att upprätthålla stämningen in i det sista. 2.35:1 i källaren tar lov, men klubbarna fortsätter hela sommaren med eftertraktade djs och tokiga inslag i Stora Salongen. Ett massivt function one rigg bidrar till de kvalitativa klubbkvällarna. – Det är världens bästa klubbljud. Med det visar vi på hur säsongen varit och hur framtiden på 2.35:1 kommer att se ut, säger nattklubbschef Martin Kling. KEVIN SAUNDERSON Kollegan Derrick May lär ha inspirerat Kevin Saunderson att checka in på planet från Detroit till Stockholm. Den 14 maj gjorde May en oöverträffad spelning på 2.35:1 och nu följer Saunderson efter. Tillsammans med den tredje highschoolkompisen Juan Atkins anses Kevin Saunderson och Derrick May vara upphovsmän till genren som arkiveras under T som i Techno. Respekterad och erkänd världen över är Kevin också en legend i sig själv. Det senaste albumet ’History’ elevate är en resa genom hans omfattande musikaliska historia. Den innehåller några av hans största verk mixade av topproducenterna Luciano, Carl Craig, Simian Mobile Disco, Claude VonStroke, Mike Shannon med flera. Kevin Saundersons spelning på 2.35:1 blir en av höjdpunkterna under avslutningsfesten den 2-3 juli. NICK HÖPPNER Nick Höppner residerar i hemstaden Berlin och på klubbarna Berghain/Panorama Bar samt Watergate clubs. Han har en förmåga att balansera, utforska och bidra till en rad musikaliska kreationer. Därigenom håller han också upp delar av dagens subkulturella house- och technoscen. Hans öppenhjärtiga inställning till musik i kombination med en ansenlig professionell bakgrund har resulterat i den nuvarande positionen som manager för Berghain/Panorama bars egna märke Ostgut Ton. Nicks karriär inräknar etiketter som Morr Music, hans egna avtryck ’Just’ med partnern Lee Jones och det redaktionella arbetet för ledande Groove magazine. Hans två solotolvor innehåller genomgående skickliga, upplyftande och djupt melodiösa technosessioner, spöklika rytmer och minutiöst producerade musikaliska uttryck. STEFFI Steffi är i allra högsta grad en mångsysslare. Hon är resident-dj på Panorama Bar i Berlin, driver ett skivbolag och har organiserat en mängd fester och klubbar i kategorier som går om sidan av det som kallas mainstream. Förutom att ha hjälpt till att driva fram ett monster till nattklubb som Berghain och Panorama Bar, har hon en bakgrund i undergroundscenen i Amsterdam. Steffi levererar oavkortat det senaste av allt ifrån elektronisk disco till seriös detroit- eller holländsk electro. Dock utgår mycket av hennes musik från house och funk. Sedan år 2000 driver Steffi skivbolaget Klakson tillsammans med den holländska musikproducenten Dexter. De har släppt högt aktade skivor med artister som Dexter, Fastgraph, Duplex, Seymor Bits, Putsch 79 eller Mr. Cisco, som också blivit uppbackade av mäktiga och likasinnade artister som exempelvis Laurent Garnier, DJ Hell, Andrew Weatherall och Miss Kittin. SIS Sis set på 2.35:1 kommer att präglas av hans originella stil. Självklart kommer publiken också att kunna dansa loss till de välkända klassikerna. Efter framgångar med hyllade spår som "Trompeta" på Ricardo Villalobos Sei Es Drum och "Nesrib" på Cécille, har Sis stått på scener i världens alla hörn. 2008 utnämndes han till "the Producer of the Year" och hans musik fick titeln "Track of the Year" (Groove Magazine) samt både #2 Liveact of the Year och Newcomer of the Year (Raveline). Sis garanterar alltid en euforisk stämning på dansgolvet då hans musik uttrycker en varm, behaglig och hänförande känsla med intensiva crescendon. Han har rötterna i housegrooves med techtendenser och hans influenser växlar mellan latinska toner blandade med orientaliska djup och upplyftande zigenarbeats. Just nu jobbar han intensivt på en 12" för Cocoon Recordings och i år kommer han också att släppa sitt första album på egna skivbolaget "Cocolino Rec". JACK SCHIDT Reykjavik, Island, räknas som en av världens bästa städer för klubbar och musik, mycket tack vare stadens DJ Jack Schidt AKA Margeir St Ingolfsson som sedan tidigt 90-tal arrangerat de största dansfesterna och varit resident DJ på legendariska nattklubbarna Sirkus och Kaffibarinn.     Menu Search Red Bull Music Academy Daily An Oral History of Berlin Minimal Techno A look back at the stripped-down subgenre that defined the German capital from 1998-2008 September 7, 2018 By Joshua Glazer In 1998, the rave scene that gripped Germany after reunification was at its apex. What had started in the literal underground spaces of post-GDR Berlin after the fall of the Wall had gone mainstream, with millions of young people celebrating the colorful culture of electronic dance music all across the country. But the techno utopia envisioned by many as the new millenium approached was already starting to come undone. The trend was swiftly co-opted – ironically, by some of the same capitalist forces that had defeated the communist system a decade earlier. The bubble soon burst, and many of those truly dedicated to the music were forced to rebuild. The result was something that was the opposite of rave’s over-the- top excess, a movement that idealized a minimalist aesthetic in sound, visuals and fashion. It was a lifestyle that resisted the unbridled exuberance of rave in favor of something more sustainable – and sustain it did, with tracks that filled whole sides of vinyl and parties that went on for days at a time. Berlin became the center for this new creative community, drawing in techno practitioners and aficionados from around the world who came for the party and stayed for the ease of living made possible by cheap rents and easy access to artist visas. “Minimal” became the buzzword around this scene, and while overindulgences were aplenty in freewheeling afterhours, the “arm, aber sexy” (poor but sexy) slogan coined by then-mayor Klaus Wowereit could not have been a more accurate appraisal of Berlin’s appeal.
