On the beach they are attacked by the mysterious Enigma monsters. While the hero fights them off, the other students gets scattered and disappear. A vast adventure awaits to find the lost friends and fight off the vicious monsters. In this world, the students and monsters all have magical attributes. There are 16 different magic elements, like thunder, water, fire, insect and sound. Magical Seirei spirits of the associated element accompany you and enhance your strength in battles. When you call on them the power of magic increases. This is a complex and involving game but it's still very much enjoyable even if you don't get into the minute details of the magic and items. - Bura The money in the game is called Bura (ブラー). - Pizza Warp Shop Pizza is a guy in a big blue hat that creates warp spots on the map. He will ask for 5 pinecones (まつぼっく り) for the trouble. Access the warp spots through the World Map menu to warp at any time. Until you have the map (地図) for a plane you won't be able to warp. - Magic At the beginning of the game you only have a few pieces of weak equipment, but as you level up you will learn more and powerful equipment, see the magic section for details and lists. - Seirei The cute little Seirei (spirits) aren't just there to collect; they serve a very real purpose in the game. Call on a Seirei in battle and the next attack with that element will have twice the power. You can call on as many Seirei as you have, and for each one the power doubles. So if you have a lot of Seirei you can pull off super strong attacks. But the enemy can also use your Seirei, and you can use theirs. Avoid launching Seirei of the same attribute as the opponent and use any Seirei they launch. The most important Seirei is probably the Love Seirei (愛). Love magic is used to heal the HP and MP of the party, and is crucial in battles. For more details on the various Seirei and how to aquire them, see the Seirei section. - Stats LV - Level, main status level HP - Hit Points, how much of a beating you can take MP - Magic Points, how much magic you can use 力 - Power, Power of the physical kick attack 守 - Defence, Protection against physical attacks 速 - Speed, How early you attack 精 - Spirit, Protection against magic attacks M/P - MP Recovery, How many % of MP is regained each turn EXP - Experience points, once it's full you will level up - Healing HP: Some of the green pots heal HP, and it doesn't cost anything. MP: Some of the brown jars heal MP, it costs 1 green Gummy Frog. HP can only be healed from the outside, via magic, items or the green pots. MP heals automatically for each turn in the battles. You can see on the status screen how many % of your MP will be healed. MP can also be healed from the outside via magic, items or the brown jars. - Inn In all the bigger villages there's an Inn. Stay at the Inn and you replenish all HP and MP of your party. In som villages the Inn is free, in some it costs 5 Bura the first time, and free after that, in some it costs 5 Bura every time. - MD Magic Doll The Magic Doll is a dummy member of your party that can take on the magic of other party members. For more details see the MD section. - Battle basics The majority of battles are random encounters, but there are also some areas without random battles where you must actively choose to fight. See walkthrough for details. The battles are all turn based, and there are no timers or action elements. There is an element of strategy in choosing which area to attack. There is magic that attacks and heals, items that attack (bombs) and heal (Gummys), you can kick the enemy (using no MP), block attacks, or attempt to escape. The enemy magic can cause status ailments that makes it impossible to fight. The order of attack depends on each character's Speed (速) level. If your entire party is fainted (HP 0) or petrified it's game over (start over from the last save point). Likewise, if the entire enemy party is fainted or petrified you win the battle. After winning you will receive Bura (ブラー), experience and maybe some item(s). Usually, the harder the battle (more enemies, higher levels) the bigger the reward. - Item Basics Gummy Frogs (カエルグミ) heals HP. They're little green/blue/red frogs hopping around in the field trying to avoid you. Gummy Worms (ミミズグミ) heals MP. They're little yellow/red earthworms crawling around in the field, and hiding from you in Gummy Worm holes. Catch them fast before they burrow. Tails (しっぽ) are used for healing status ailments in battle. They're little tails lying about in the field. Leaves (はっぱ) increases various stats. They're little green leaves lying about in the field. Coins (コイン) are used for paying Seirei. They're little golden glittery coins lying about in the field. Seals (シール) are used for protection. They're little round red items sticking to walls. Pinecones (まつぼっくり) are given to Pizza to create warp spots. They're brown little pinecones lying about in the field. Equipment Items (そうびアイテム) are equipped on your party members to increase stats. MD Parts are equipped on the Magic Dolls. Bombs (ボム) are used in battle instead of magic. Some items can be found in the field as described above. They can also be found in chests, won in battles, or aquired at certain events. Some can also be bought in Shops for Bura, see prices in the item section. Apart from their primary usage, a lot of items are also used as payment for Seirei, or you need to gather them to make Seirei appear, see the Seirei section. For more details on the different kinds of items, see the item section. There are also Event Items, some needed to progress the story, some simply useful. These are usually received when reaching a specific point or fullfilling some task. Details can be found in the walkthrough. - Items and Status Effects in Battle When in battle and it's your turn to attack, select the Item icon (アイテム). It looks like a round pouch. You will be given a list of all the items you have. First are the Gummys (frog icons), then Tails (tail icons), last Bombs (bomb icons). Press select and detailed info will pop up. On the second line of the popup the effect of the item is listed. Select the item you want to use and chose which member to use it on. The Gummys heals HP and MP, in the effect popup it will say HP 30, MP 50 etc. The Tails heals status effects, in the effect popup it will say which status ailment it's curing, and usually it will say over your teams head which status effect they're afflicted with, so match them up to heal them. So for example, if it says しびれ (Numbness) over your character you look in the detailed info popup for a Tail that lists しびれ healing as the effect, that is シビナのしっぽ (Numb Tail). ドクナのしっぽ (Poison Tail) will cure どく (Poison) シビナのしっぽ (Numb Tail) will cure しびれ (Numbness) マヒナのしっぽ (Paralysis Tail) will cure マヒ/まひ (Paralysis) セキナのしっぽ (Stone Tail) will cure 石化 (Petrification) フッカのしっぽ (Revival Tail) will cure 気絶 (Fainting) The most important Tail is フッカのしっぽ (Revival Tail) that cures fainting. It is listed last of the Tails, right before the bombs. Be sure to always have these in stock as soon as you are able to buy them. Once your entire team is fainted it's game over, so try to heal fainting as soon as you can. All status effects are cleared after the battle ends. Select a bomb and you can see which attribute they have on the first line of the detailed info popup. Choose a bomb and select which enemy area it should attack. See In-Depth Guide/Tips for info on all status effects. - Difficulty Levels How hard the game is depends on which Magic Attribute you choose, see the chart below. At the beginner level you don't need to level up as much to beat the monsters in a specific area, and at the skilled level you need to level up a lot. There are also two "modes" in which you can play the game. The easy way is to just play along and pick up any items you see. This way you will be able to finish the story just fine, but you won't be able to complete the game 100%.
