It is a compilation of site visits made by the group and individuals to help facilitate your classroom visits. SCIENCE RESOURCE GUIDE Aiio Nuevo State Reserve New Years Creek Road Pescadero,CA 94060 The reserve protects the habitat and breeding grounds (415) 879-0595 for the northern elephant seals. Teacher Training There is no teacher training. Docent training consists of twelve 3 hour class sections. Materials There is an At'lo Nuevo State Reserve brochure available but no teacher packet. An excellent source of reference is The Natural History of Ano Nuevo by Le Boluf and Kaza. Fees The cost is $6 per 20 students. SCIENCE RESOURCE GI.UDE Ardenwood Historic Farm 34600 Ardenwood Blvd. Fremont, CA 94555 Ardenwood is a demonstration farm. It invites you to (510) 796-0663 experience farm life as it was near the turn of the century. Draft horses still pull wagons, rail cars and Contact Per•on(•J Ira Bietz (supervisor) plows. The land still grows the kinds of crops grown 100 years ago, and the farmyard is still full of animals. Type of Organization There are "hands-on" activities designed for school East Bay Regional Park District groups. There are a collection of relevant articles and ideas for "hands-on" activities for students. Fees The fees are $2.50 for ages 4-17, $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, and kids under 4 are free.
