Are You Ready for a Frightfully Good Time?

Are You Ready for a Frightfully Good Time?

Calling All Volunteers!!! Are You Ready for a Frightfully Good Time?

The Jackson Zoo is in the process of preparing for our 22nd annual Halloween event, Fright Night, Friday and Saturday, October 27th & 28th!

During previous years, Fright Night has drawn over 6,000 visitors and is a very important fundraiser for the Zoo. As you can imagine, a multitude of volunteers is needed to help everyone have an enjoyable visit, and we would appreciate it if you would help us provide a “frightfully” good time for all who dare to attend!

Volunteers help with Fright Night in any number of capacities, from showing children the path in the Haunted Hollow, to assisting with concessions, helping children in and out of the Haunted Space Jump and scaring people on their way through the Trail of Terror, along a Terror Train ride and in the Haunted House.

Volunteers work from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. during the event and are treated to Domino's pizza following the event. All volunteers are required to attend a brief pre-event meeting on Saturday, October 21st, at 2:00 p.m. Since the Zoo is a non-profit organization, volunteers for the event also receive volunteer service hours for all time spent helping with Fright Night.

There will be CASH prizes given to the top three scenes on the “Trail of Terror!" This is a great opportunity for a civic group, school club, any group who needs to raise funds, or just a group of friends who want to get together to come out and have a great time for 2 nights doing something fun together.

Scene sizes will range from 2 people to 10 people and locations will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis until all spots are filled. First prize will be $250, second $150 and third $100.

If you would like to participate in this fantastic volunteer opportunity, please make copies of the enclosed volunteer form and have each person fill one out and return to the address listed on it. If you have any questions, call me at 352-2599! We look forward to seeing you!
