PUBLISHERS OF "THE EDDY FAMILY IN AMERICA" PLYMOUTHt OCTOBER 20, 1630 ORGANIZED: SEPTEMBER US, 1920 TERCENTENNIAL, OCTOBER 29, 1930 INCORPORATED: OCTOBER 29, 1923 PREFACE This Supplement to "The Eddy Family in America", published October 29,1930, has been prepared by the Chairman of the Genealogical Committee, ~rs. Ruth Story Devereux Eddy, A. B., A. M. It includes all the new items that could be gathered concerning members of the Eddy Family in America. The preparation of this Supplement represe~ts ten years of con stant correspondence, and includes more than 8700 new genealogical items. Serial numbers have been asaignea and the lines of descent from the ori ginal settler have been includea for each new item. The numerals in the margins of the Supplement refer to pages in "The Eddy Family in America" and the numerals in parentheses in the text refer to the serial numbers assigned to individuals in that volume. The Appen dix of 1932 has been paged, bound, and indexed with the Supplement of 1940. l'he Index of Persona has been limited to Eddys and Eddy descendants. On this 310th Anniversary of the landing of John and Samuel Eddy in Plymouth, it is timely to bring together the results of the past decade of genealogical research. In publishing this volume, the Eddy Family Association, Inc., adds one more to its brilliant record of achlevements in the past twenty years. Five important memorials in the form of bronze tablets have been erected at the various shrines of our family story. Twenty-nine consecutive Bulletins have amassed a surprising total of new and valuable information bearing on the family history. The a.."lilual, sum mer Reunions have told their story of delight{ul fellowship and of real progress in unifying the interests of the Eddy name. The Officers of the Acsociation and the Executive Committee desire to record their tribute of profound appreciation of the unending labors of our genealogist. To her alone was due the preparation of our family volume, the Appendix of 1932, and this Supplement of 1940. We have been privileged to share in the continuous and br~lliant efforts of this historian of our FamilYr, and future generations will bless her name for the achievement of" her 'labor of love". Colonel Robert C. Eddy, Secretary of the Association, has accepted the task of placing these records in print, and of handling the endless details of the revision of our lists of members. He and his daughter Marcia Brooks Eddy have prepared the Index of the Supplement, a labor that has consumed months of time, and all for the benefit of our family record. dlfi~~ President TABLE OF CONTENTS APPENDIX of 1932 Pages 1 - 16 SUPPLEMENT of 1940 Pages 17 - 157 I.
