The Foundation helped fund $439,000 in scholarships, the campus Wish List program, an increase in our participation in the STAR Book Reserve Program, and new memberships on the Foundation Board and its auxiliaries – the Patrons and the Hens and Chickens Quilt Fellowship and increased Community Relations. In April, 2014, the Foundation held its 17th annual Golden West College Gala. We are extremely pleased to have raised $118,000. The proceeds will benefit Golden West College students and the campus Wish List. We particularly want to thank Foundation staff (L-R) Ryan Chung, John Wordes, Sheila Cox, Bruce Berman, and Elmore Toyota, Union Bank of California, Southern California Edison, Huntington Tuan Huynh. The Foundation Office is located in the Administration Building on the east side of the President’s Courtyard. Beach Hospital and Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. as major sponsors, as well as all of the underwriters who gave so generously to this event. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Gala Committee and the community at large for continuing to support this very important event. We look forward to continuing this success at our 18th Gala scheduled for April 11, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa. Our 23rd annual Courtyard of Honor Ceremony was celebrated on October 23, 2014. Four Golden West College The Golden West College Foundation Alumni were honored as “Alumni Pillars of Achievement” recipients. Since the inception of this awards program in 1991, 100 alumni have been recognized. We honored two Pillars of Support ($25,000-$99,999) – Massen Greene The Golden West College Foundation was organized in 1986 to solicit and manage gifts to benefit the college Foundation and Rainbow Environmental Services, as well as 16 Premier Pillars ($100,000+) and three Golden Society and its students. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting the College’s mission of providing comprehensive academic opportunities to the community for lifelong learning. Honorees.
