Kick Off Driving Season with Vintage Station Wagons in the Route 66 Gallery Opening March 27

Page 1 of 8 Americaʼs Car Museum is kicking off the summer vacation season with an entertaining new display featuring sensational vintage American Station Wagons in the Route 66 Gallery opened with great enthusiasm last May.

Route 66 is a road so quintessentially American that it has become a permanent part of our cultural memory: Route 66, the Mother Road, the Main Street of America. Even those too young to have experienced its heyday can instantly picture the neon signs and teepee-shaped motels. People around the world recognize Route 66 as a symbol of space, freedom, abundance, and the thrill of the unexpected: everything great about the U.S.A.

There are few vehicles that conjure up the delight of the family vacation like the great American Station Wagon. Whether youʼre reliving a memorable road trip, or planning to embark on a new adventure, thereʼs no better way to experience the great American road trip but in a vintage wagon on the Mother Road.

You won't want to miss this exhibit. It promises to be just as memorable as the road itself.

Page 3 of 8 from the Club of Seattle. The display features models from Vespa and Lambretta

Vespa, which means "wasp" in Italian, was established in 1946 by . Piaggio wanted to design a "motorcycle with rationally placed parts" that offered "protection from mud and dust without jeopardizing requirements of appearance and elegance".

Lambretta began in , in 1947 and have since been made around the world in countries such as Spain, India, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and more. The name Lambretta is derived from the small river Lambro in Milan, which ran near the original factory.

The Vespa Club of Seattle, established in 1999, serves as a hub for the community of riders and enthusiasts based in the Pacific Northwest. The VCOS mission is to promote rallies, rides, education, safety and support for all those with a passion for the iconic Vespa scooter, no matter what make or model they ride.
