N. 0174 Venerdì 07.04.2006 RINUNCE E NOMINE RINUNCE E NOMINE ● RIORGANIZZAZIONE DELLE CIRCOSCRIZIONI ECCLESIASTICHE IN SLOVENIA E RELATIVE PROVVISTE Il Santo Padre Benedetto XVI ha adottato i seguenti provvedimenti per le circoscrizioni ecclesiastiche in Slovenia: 1) ha creato le nuove Diocesi di Novo Mesto, con territorio dismembrato dall’Arcidiocesi di Ljubljana; di Celje, con territorio dismembrato dalla Diocesi di Maribor; di Murska Sobota, con territorio dismembrato dalla Diocesi di Maribor; 2) ha assegnato la Diocesi di Novo Mesto come suffraganea all’Arcidiocesi metropolitana di Ljubljana; 3) ha elevato la Diocesi di Maribor ad Arcidiocesi metropolitana, assegnandole come suffraganee le Diocesi di Celje e di Murska Sobota; 4) ha nominato Arcivescovo metropolita di Marubor S.E. Mons. Franc Kramberger, finora Vescovo della medesima sede; 5) ha nominato Vescovo residenziale di Novo Mesto S.E. Mons. Andrej Glavan, finora Vescovo titolare di Musti di Numidia ed Ausiliare di Ljubljana; di Celje, S.E. Mons. Anton Stres, finora Vescovo titolare di Ptuj ed Ausiliare di Maribor; di Murska Sobota, Mons. Marjan Turnšek, Rettore del Seminario Vescovile di Maribor. S.E. Mons. Marjan Turnšek, Vescovo di Murska Sobota S.E. Mons. Franc Kramberger, Arcivescovo Metropolita di Maribor E’ nato a Lenart, diocesi di Maribor, il 7 ottobre 1936. Ordinato sacerdote il 29 giugno 1960. Ha compiuto gli studi filosofici e teologici presso la Facoltà di Teologia di Ljubljana, dove ha ottenuto il Dottorato in Teologia con 2 la Tesi di Laurea ‘Verità centrali della fede nella predicazione di A. M. Slomšek (1800-1862)’. Vice-parroco a Sv. Rešnje Telo, Maribor, e successivamente Prefetto del Seminario Minore della Diocesi, Rettore dal 1972 e dal 1976 anche Economo, egli è stato eletto alla sede residenziale di Maribor il 6 novembre 1980 e ordinato Vescovo il 21 dicembre successivo. Durante i 25 anni di ministero episcopale a Maribor, S.E. Kramberger ha celebrato tre sinodi diocesani dedicati rispettivamente alla pastorale sacerdotale, giovanile e familiare; ha ricevuto S.S. Giovanni Paolo II durante il Viaggio Apostolico in Slovenia nel 1996 e nel 1999 per la beatificazione del Vescovo di Maribor Anton Maria Slomsek. Dal 6 dicembre 2004, l’Ecc.mo Kramberger è Presidente della Conferenza Episcopale Slovena. Mons. Kramberger parla tedesco, italiano, francese e serbo-croato. S.E. Mons. Andrej Glavan, Vescovo di Novo Mesto E’ nato il 14 ottobre 1943 a Soteska, presso Novo Mesto (Ljubljana). Dopo l’esame di maturità nel 1961, ha studiato alla Facoltà di Scienze Naturali e Tecnologia di Ljubljana, ottenendo il Diploma d'Ingegnere chimico. Dal 1967 al 1973 ha compiuto gli studi filosofici e teologici presso la Facoltà di Teologia di Ljubljana. Ordinato sacerdote il 29 giugno 1972, successivamente ha svolto gli incarichi di Vice-parroco a Škofja Loka, Parroco a Stara Loka e Parroco a Škofja Loka. Dal 1980 al 1997 è stato Decano del Decanato di Škofja Loka e dal 1997 al 2000 Arcidiacono della Carniola Superiore e Membro del Consiglio Presbiterale dell'Arcidiocesi. Appartiene al Movimento dei Focolari. Eletto alla sede titolare di Musti di Numidia il 13 maggio 2000, Mons. Glavan è stato ordinato Vescovo il 12 giugno 2000, ed ha ricoperto fino ad oggi le funzioni di Ausiliare e Vicario Generale dell’Arcidiocesi di Ljubljana. Nel 2004 Mons. Glavan è stato Amministratore Diocesano di Ljubljana. Egli parla italiano, francese e serbo- croato. S.E. Mons. Anton Stres, C.M., Vescovo di Celje E’ nato a Donačka Gora, diocesi di Maribor, il 15 dicembre 1942. Entrato nella Congregazione della Missione (PP. Lazzaristi), è stato ordinato sacerdote il 20 aprile 1968. In essa ha ricoperto diversi incarichi: Consigliere della direzione provinciale, Rettore dei seminaristi, Visitatore e Provinciale. Dottore in Filosofia per l’Istututo Cattolico di Parigi ed in Teologia per la Facoltà Teologica di Ljubljana. In quest’ultima ha ricoperto diverse funzioni docenti fino ad essere eletto Decano il 1 ottobre 1999. Ha pubblicato decine di libri e di articoli filosofici e teologici. Nel contempo, Mons. Stres si è inoltre disimpegnato come membro della Segreteria per i non credenti presso la Conferenza Episcopale Jugoslava. Eletto alla sede titolare di Ptuj il 13 maggio 2000, Mons. Stres è stato ordinato Vescovo il 24 giugno 2000 ed ha ricoperto fino ad oggi le funzioni di Ausiliare e Vicario Generale della Diocesi di Maribor. Nell’ambito della Conferenza Episcopale Slovena, l’Ecc.mo Stres è stato per due volte consecutive Delegato della medesima presso la CCEE. Attualmente è Presidente della Commissione "Giustizia e Pace" e Delegato per i Rapporti con lo Stato, particolarmente con il Ministero di Difesa, per quanto riguarda l’assistenza religiosa agli appartenenti alle Forze armate e di sicurezza dello Stato. Mons. Stres parla tedesco, francese, inglese, italiano e serbo-croato. S.E. Mons. Marjan Turnšek, Vescovo di Murska Sobota E' nato il 25 luglio 1955 a Celje (Maribor), ha compiuto gli studi di Filosofia e Teologia alla Facoltà Teologica di Ljubljana. 3 Ordinato sacerdote il 28 Giugno 1981, dal 1981 al 1985 è stato Vice-parroco a Velenje (Maribor) e dal 1985 al 1990 ha eseguito gli Studi teologici superiori presso la Pontificia Università Gregoriana di Roma, ottenendo il Dottorato in Teologia Dogmatica, il 17 Dicembre 1990, con la Tesi di Laurea: 'Chiesa e Sacramenti nella Teologia del periodo pre-conciliare nei Decreti del Vaticano II', pubblicata dall'Università Gregoriana. Ha ottenuto anche il Diploma della Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana. Dal 18 luglio 1992, egli si è dedicato, come Vice- postulatore, alla causa del Vescovo Anton Martin Slomšek, beatificato il 19 settembre 1999. Dal 1 settembre 1994 sino ad oggi Mons. Turnšek è stato Rettore del Seminario Maggiore diocesano di Maribor, Membro del Collegio di Consultori, Esorcista della diocesi e Responsabile della Formazione permanente per il clero. Il 7 gennaio 1999 è stato nominato Canonico della Cattedrale di Maribor e il 18 Gennaio 1999 Prelato d'Onore di Sua Santità. Mons. Turnšek parla tedesco, inglese, italiano e serbo-croato.     Religion, State & Society, Vo!. 28, No. 3, 2000 Editorial In her article in this issue of Religion, State & Society Janice Broun focuses on a church which has been disabled by its close identification with the secular power. Bulgaria achieved its independence in 1878. The church was granted state subsidies, on which it has in fact remained dependent throughout modern Bulgarian history, and Orthodoxy was declared the official religion of the state. The whole period between independence and the communist takeover was marked by bitter antago­ nisms, with church leaders defending church autonomy as well as involving them­ selves in national politics. However, the result was a victory for the secular state. The politicisation of the church hierarchy is widely seen as a factor causing a decline in religious faith and observance among the popUlation. The communists brought church-state relations in Bulgaria to a logical conclusion. The church was named as the 'traditional church of the Bulgarian people' in the 1949 law on confessions, and the patriarchate was restored in 1953. Communist leaders regularly paid tribute to the key role of the church in preserving Bulgarian identity through centuries of tribulation. At the same time the church was transformed into an obedient and useful tool in the hands of the government, which consolidated its hold with persecution and the use of divide-and-rule tactics. This state of affairs mani­ fested its harmful consequences as soon as communism came to an end. The Bulgarian Orthodox Church suffered a major schism in 1992; the original issue was the validity of the election of the patriarch in the communist period.

    Odtis Poloma Slovenske Katoliške Cerkve Na Podatkih Raziskave Sjm**

    ČLANKI Marjan SMRKE* ODTIS POLOMA SLOVENSKE KATOLIŠKE CERKVE NA PODATKIH RAZISKAVE SJM** Povzetek. Slovenska Katoliška cerkev je v nekaj letih izgubila štiri nadškofe oz. dve zaporedni vodstvi. Pojav nima primerjave v novejši evropski zgodovini. Povezan je predvsem s finančnim polomom mariborske nadško- fije. Zastavlja se vprašanje, kakšen odtis je to pustilo na časovnih vrstah podatkov, ki se v raziskavi Slovensko javno mnenje (SJM) nanašajo na religioznost. Raziskava pokaže, da vrednosti dela tozadevnih spre- menljivk-indikatorjev (pripadnost, vernost) v zadnjih letih ne odstopajo od šibkega sekularizacijskega trenda (postsocialističnega) tranzicijskega obdobja, medtem ko vrednosti drugih spremenljivk-indikatorjev (obisko- vanje obredov, zaupanje) kažejo pospešek v smeri (še večjega) distanciranja od Cerkve kot institucije. To dis- tanciranje je dovolj izrazito, da ga lahko štejemo za 275 znamenje novega sociološkega stanja. Na podlagi mer- jenj religioznosti v okviru SJM od leta 1968 dalje je zdaj mogoče razločevati štiri (de)sekularizacijska obdobja. Ključni pojmi: Katoliška cerkev, odstavitve nadškofov, vernost, sekularizacija Katoliška cerkev (KC), ki je med Slovenci že stoletja poglavitna verska organizacija, je v zadnjih letih izgubila štiri nadškofe. Tako so odstopili nad- škof Alojzij Uran (28. 11. 2009), nadškof Franc Kramberger (3. 2. 2011), nad- škof Anton Stres in nadškof Marjan Turnšek (oba 31. 7. 2013). Po odstopu zadnjih dveh sta nadškofiji več kot leto dni vodila apostolska administra- torja – vse do umestitve Staneta Zoreta (23. 11. 2014) v Ljubljani oz. Alojzija Cvikla (26. 4. 2015) v Mariboru. Odstopi so bili dejansko odstavitve po para- grafu 2401. člena kanonskega zakonika.1 Čeprav odstavitve v KC niso zelo redek pojav, se v novejši zgodovini v Evropi še ni primerilo, da bi krajevna Cerkev hkrati oz.

Among post-communist countries, those of the former Yugoslavia have had, for the past three years, the unfortunate privilege of attracting wor1d attention to themselves because of the war that rages on their soil. What a war it is! It has been marked by extreme violence which continually transgresses the most fundamental human rights. The consequences, both material and spiritual, will be terrible. And yet, very few people know what it is all about. Even major political leaders do not really understand the roots and the causes of this war. The historical background to the war Yugoslavia was founded immediately after the First World War in 1919.

José Antúnez de Mayolo, a Salesian Bishop from the Archdiocese of Ayacucho in Peru, came for a private visit to Medjugorje. “This is a beautiful shrine where I find much faith, where I find faithful who live their faith, faithful who come for confession. I was hearing the confessions of Spanish pilgrims. I participated in Eucharistic celebrations and I liked everything very, very much. It is really very beautiful here. It is right that Medjugorje is called a place of prayer for the whole world and ‘the confessional of the world’. I have been to Lourdes, but it is a very different reality. They cannot be compared. They are two different realities. In Lourdes, the event is closed, but here everything is still developing. Here, faith can be felt in a much stronger way than in Lourdes. Medjugorje is still quite unknown in Peru, but I promise to become an apostle of Medjugorje in my country. The faith is strong and alive here, and this is what attracts so many pilgrims from the whole world. I should like to tell them to have a strong love for the Blessed Virgin Mary. Let them love her mightily, because she is our Mother and she is always with us. This is why those who live and work here have to love her, but also priests who come from abroad. Pilgrims who come here have already started their spiritual journey towards the Blessed Virgin Mary, and they already have faith.

Msgr. Ilídio Pinto Leandro. The Pope has appointed as bishop of the diocese of Viseu, Portugal, the Rev. Can. António Luciano dos Santos Costa, of the clergy of the diocese of Guarda, and currently episcopal vicar for the clergy. Rev. Can. António Luciano dos Santos Costa The Rev. Can. António Luciano dos Santos Costa was born on 3 May 1952 in Corgas, municipality of Seia, in the diocese of Guarda. He attended the São Romão College in Seia and then the School of Nursing in Coimbra, obtaining a diploma in professional nursing. He then practised as a nurse in the University Hospital of Coimbra, at the same time attending the Institute for Theological Studies in Coimbra, and then entering the Major Seminary of Guarda (1981-1985). He obtained a licentiate in moral theology from the Alphonsianum Academy, Rome (1987-1990). He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Guarda on 29 June 1985. As a priest he has held the following offices: head of the Pre-Seminary and director of the Secretariat for Youth Education (1985-1987); professor of moral theology at the Viseu Institute of Theology (1995-2013); and professor of Ethics at the Guarda School of Nursing. At diocesan level he has served as: director of the Diocesan Service for Pastoral Care for Vocations; chaplain of the University of Beira, Covilhã; head of organizing the diocesan process for the beatification / 2 canonization of the Servant of God Msgr.

Basic facts: 1 Population (number, ethnic differentiation) Slovenia is the most western nation among the Slavic nations and located at the important geographical crossing between Romanic, Slavic and German nations. Slovenes have thus had to provide for their survival under the pressure of Germans and Romans. Christianity came to Slovenia from Aquilea and Salzburg through Irish-Scottish monks. The Germans in particular hindered the autonomy of the Slovene people and thus prevented the missionary work of Cyril and Methodius, imprisoning Methodius in Ellwangen (Germany), because they sought to exploit the missionary work for imperial purposes. As a result, the Slovene people had to establish their political framework within the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The time of national growth deepened the pressure of the dominant nations of Germany and Austria on other nations. Slovenes, Croats, Serbs in the South and the Czechs and Slovaks in the East decided during the First World War to separate themselves form the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The Slovene politicians Anton Korošec (1872-1940) and Janez Evangelist Krek (1865-1917) worked toward the separation of these nations and their subsequent reunion with the Serbian Monarchy in the Monarchy of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, also known as the First Yugoslavia (1918). The new state could not solve the problem of nationalism and the leading nation, Serbia, oppressed the other nations so that the state could fall. Around this time, the king was assassinated and the Second World War started. The communist revolution occurred during the war. There are about 46,000 victims of the revolution in Slovenia.

    289 Ivan Janez Štuhec Social Thought and its Infuence in Slovenia 1 Social Thought and Its Infuence in Slovenia Ivan Janez Štuhec Zusammenfassung In Slowenien ist der christlich- soziale Gedanke seit dem Ende des neunzehnten Jahr- hunderts bis heute mit sehr unterschiedlicher Intensität präsent. Hinsichtlich der 45-jäh- rigen Herrschaft des kommunistischen totalitären Systems, das den christlich- sozialen Gedanken aus der Öfentlichkeit verdrängte, kam es nach den Gesellschaftsverände- rungen im Jahr 1990 zu einer Wiederbelebung in Theorie und Praxis. In den letzten fünf- undzwanzig Jahren schwankt seine Präsenz im öfentlichen und akademischen Leben. Sowohl materielle Voraussetzungen als auch personelle Bedingungen für sozialethische Forschung und die Verbreitung der Sozialethik in der gesellschaftlichen Praxis sind nicht günstig. Die slowenische Gesellschaft braucht jedoch sozialethische Refexion sowohl in Hinsicht auf ihre Vergangenheit als auch hinsichtlich der gegenwärtigen gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen im eigenen Land, in Europa und in der globalen Welt. Introduction Christian Social Thought has been present in Slovenia from the end of the 19th century until today with difering intensity. While Christian Social Thought was excluded from the public sphere during the 45 year dominion of the totalitarian communist system, it was revitalised after the system change in 1990 in theory and practice. Its public and academic presence swayed during the last 25 years. Material as well as personal resources are not convenient to intensify social ethical research and spread Christian social ethics in social practice. Nonetheless, there is a need for social ethical refection in Slovenian society concerning past and present social challenges in Slovenia, Europe and around the globe. In Slovenia, social thought has been present since the end of the 19th century or since Rerum Novarum (RN, 1891).

HOLY SEE Appointments The Holy Father John Paul II has raised the Apostolic Prefecture of Tierradentro to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate, with the same denomination and territorial configuration. Moreover, His Holiness has named Fr. Jorge García Isaza, C.M. as the first Apostolic Vicar of Tierradentro (Colombia), assigning him the Episcopal See of Budua. Until now, Fr. Ha conseguito la Licenza in Teologia Morale nella Pontificia Accademia Alfonsiana, il Dottorato in Teologia Dommatica nella Pontificia Università Lateranense e la laurea in Filosofia presso l’Università Statale di Bari. 2 Ordinato sacerdote il 18 marzo 1971, è stato: Educatore nel Pontificio Seminario Romano Maggiore dal 1971 al 1974; Vice Rettore e poi Direttore Spirituale nel Seminario diocesano dal 1975 al 1978; Parroco di S. Francesco d’Assisi in Oria dal 1979 al 1980; Vicario foraneo dal 1980 al 1985; Vicario episcopale per i Ministeri non ordinati e per il Diaconato permanente dal 1985; Professore ordinario di Teologia Morale presso il Seminario regionale di Molfetta e presso l’Istituto di Scienze Religiose in Oria dal 1980; Insegnante di Religione nel Liceo Classico Statale di Francavilla Fontana dal 1974; Canonico del Capitolo della Cattedrale di Oria dal 1972; Membro del Consiglio pastorale diocesano dal 1981; Membro del Collegio dei Consultori dal 1983.
