Allegro agitato II. Andante molto tranquillo III. Allegro These four performers were selected from a national pool of competitors as inalists in our 2nd Quadrennial String Competition. Each inalist submitted a program consisting of a miniature or transcribed work by Grieg, a movement or piece by another Scandinavian , and a complete three-movement Grieg String Sonata. Program order selected at random. Thanks to performers, judges, and Edvard Grieg Society supporters for making this competition possible.

We would especially like to thank these contributors to our annual January "Peer Gynt Sweets" fundraiser, this year featuring the remarkable Habbestad family of musicians from . Proceeds from this fundraiser supported this competition and other music education initiatives of the Edvard Grieg Society of Minnesota.
