Arctia’s ongoing Polar Code Training - Under the Polar Code there are two sets of training elements: 1) Polar Code Ice Navigation Training • Mostly done by the officers already • Training modules designed together with the training provider (Aboamare, Turku) • Using our vessel models in simulator • Still not found particularly interesting by the participants 2) Arctic Polar Code Survival Training course (MSC.386(94), MSC.385(94)) • The Code says (MSC.385(94)) • 8.3.3.3.3.7 - -the crew shall be trained in the use of the personal survival equipment and group survival equipment. • 12.3.4 Every crew member shall be made familiar with the procedures and equipment contained or referenced in the PWOM relevant to their assigned duties. • The SAREX test exercise reports were a wake up call to our company Own tailor made Survival Training 16 October 2018 Broudman, Suutarla, Arctia Ltd.
