Monzer Kahf is currently professor of Islamic Finance and Islamic Economics, College of Islamic Studies, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Doha Qatar. He taught at the graduate program of Islamic economics and banking, School of Shari’ah, Yarmouk University, Jordan, 2004-2005. He served as a senior research economist at the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the IDB Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 1995–1999 and was a visiting professor at the graduate program of Islamic fi nance, at the International Center for Education in Islamic Finance, INCEIF, , Malaysia, during summer 2010. He has published 35 books, more than 80 articles and scores of conference and encyclopedia entries on Islamic fi nance and banking, awqaf, zakah and other areas of Islamic economics. He provides consultations and advises to Islamic banks and fatawa online in the area of Islamic fi nance and economics. He was awarded the IDB Prize for Islamic Economics, 2001 and the President of Syria Award for best University Graduating Student, July 1962.

Amiirah Bint Raffi ck Nabee Mohomed is an M.Sc. Islamic fi nance graduate from College of Islamic Studies, Hamad bin Khalifa University, Doha Qatar. She worked as Shari’ah Coordinator at Century Banking Corporation (CBC) Ltd (Mauritius), 2014- 2015. Prior to her appointment, she was a Trainee in Shari’ah Audit at the Bank. She holds a B.Sc. in Banking and Finance with First class honors from the University of Mauritius and Professional Certifi cates on Sukuk, Islamic Funds, Islamic Microfi nance and Takaful from Al-Huda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics (Pakistan). She has received several academic awards; she ranked 12th in Mauritius on Economics side (Girls) for the State of Mauritius Scholarships and 4th at national level in Islamic Studies (AS Level). She has participated in several workshops and conferences on Islamic economics and fi nance.

Mr. Azizi Che Seman is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Shariah and Economics, Academy of Islamic Studies, , 50603 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr. Azizi received B.A from University of Malaya and MEc from International Islamic University Malaysia respectively. Mr. Azizi is the Chairman of Shariah Advisor of BANK MUAMALAT from 201 4 until now. He was the Shariah advisor of Securities Commission Malaysia, Shariah from 2009 to 2015, and Shariah advisor of Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia – (AIBIM) from 2012 to 2014. Mr. Azizi Che Seman is an Expert in Islamic Transactions, Islamic Economics, Islamic Banking, Comparative Micro Economics, Capital Market (Islamic Capital Market). He has conducted many courses and presented many papers on these fi eld in diff erences countries. Mr. Azizi has published many ISI, Scopus listed article in reff ered journals and he has edited books and books in fi eld of waqf.

Asiah Kamal is a Ph.D Candidate at Department of Shariah and Economics, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Research Title: Microtakaful As An Islamic Financial Instrument: A Study Of The Elderly Muslim In Malaysia. Asiah Kamal received her BA and M.A in Shariah and Economics from University of Malaya. Miss. Asiah also works as Research Assistant at Department of Shariah and Economics, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, 50603 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia(2014-2016), under grant LRGS entitled “Concepts and Principles of Financing, Investment & Development of Higher Education Institutions Using Waqf Instrument” (LR001B-2013B) founded by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. Muhammad Nazmul Hoque is a Ph.D Candidate at Department of Shariah and Economics, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. Mr. Nazmul Hoque received his BA in Shariah and Law from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt and M.A in Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh from International Islamic University Malaysia respectively. Mr. Nazmul successfully completed many courses in Shariah and Islamic fi nance as well as conducted various Shari’ah part time classes in some institutions. He has handled various administrative and research assistant duties in IIUM and UM. This experience given him confi dence needed to succeed in a competitive environment. Mr. Nazmul has presented conference papers in various countries such as Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.

Kazi Md. Tarique is an Assistant Professor, School of Business Studies, Southeast University. He has completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2001. After that in 2005 he completed his masters in International Finance form London Metropolitan University (UK). Recently, in 2017, he completed his PhD in Business Administration from International Islamic University Malaysia. He has been teaching in diff erent areas of fi nance, banking and Islamic banking and Finance in both graduate and undergraduate level for last twelve years. He also delivers lecture at the Bangladesh Bank Training Institute as a guest lecturer on Islamic Banking. His research interest include Islamic banking and fi nance, Service quality, Multi-criteria decision making. He has more than 12 journal articles in peer reviewed journals of Bangladesh, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia France etc. He also presented papers in diff erent internationals conferences in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Mezbah Uddin Ahmed is a researcher in the International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA), Malaysia. He is also a Member of the Association of Chartered Certifi ed Accountants (ACCA) and an AAOIFI Certifi ed Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA). He one of the editors and writers of the Islamic Financial System: Principles & Operations (2nd Edition) textbook published by ISRA. He has published several articles on issues primarily related to fi nancial reporting of Islamic fi nancial institutions. He has obtained his BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, UK and MSc in Islamic Banking and Finance (MIBF) from IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF), Malaysia. Before joining ISRA, he worked in audit and assurance with a Big-4 affi liate accountancy services fi rm in Bangladesh. He has several years of experience providing lectures in ACCA and ICAEW courses. He has also trained students on AAOIFI and IFRS Standards for fi nancial reporting of Islamic fi nancial transactions.

Dewan Mahboob Hossain is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting & Information Systems, University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his undergraduate from the Department of Accounting, Authors Bio 177

University of Dhaka. Then he completed his Master of Commerce (Accounting) from the same University. After that in 2002, he completed his second Master degree in Accounting from the University of Western Sydney, Australia. After that he joined as a Lecturer in the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2003. In the year of 2013, he completed his third Master degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the International Islamic University Malaysia. In 2017, he completed his PhD in Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia. His teaching areas include auditing, accounting theory and research methodology. His research interests include corporate social responsibility and reporting, strategic management accounting and sociology of work. He has published more than 40 journal articles in academic journals of Bangladesh, the USA, the UK, Romania, India, Japan, Korea, Canada, Malaysia and Australia.

Abdul Momen is an Assistant Professor of East West University, Bangladesh. He has published many international refereed articles and book chapters with diff erent publishers namely Sage, Springer, Taylor and Francis and De Gryter. He has also published papers with diff erent renowned Universities and research bodies across the world. Many of his publications are indexed by web of science (SCI/SSCI), Scopus and other renowned bodies. Apart from publishing in refereed journals, he has more than 10 conference papers. Among those, he has got the Best paper award at third Asia pacifi c Business Research Conference, 25-26 February 2013, Malaysia. Abul Bashar Bhuiyan is senior lecture at Faculty of Business and Accountancy (FBA), University of (Unisel), Sha-Alam, Malaysia. He is also an associate research fellow at Accounting Research Institutes (ARI), University Technology Mara (UiTM), Malaysia since 2012. He awarded his PhD in fi nance at Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), National University of Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia on March, 2012. He did his MBA and undergraduate in major in accounting from Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh. He has worked at UniMAP and UUM as senior lecturer since 2012 to 2015. He has presented and published more than 50 articles in refereed reputed indexed journals and conferences proceedings and books in the related fi eld of research. Chamhuri Siwar is Emeritus Professor at the Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He was former Principal Research Fellow at LESTARI and professor at the Faculty of Economics at UKM.His research interests are in the area of agriculture and environmental economics, sustainable development and livelihood.

Abdul Ghafar Ismail is a professor of Islamic fi nancial economics at Faculty of Islamic Economics and Finance, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali. He got his PhD from University of Southampton, England. His experience includes Head of Research Division, Islamic Research and Training Institute, Islamic Development Bank; Professor of Islamic fi nancial economics, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; Bank Supervision Advisor of the International Monetary Fund for Djibouti; AmBank Group Resident Fellow for Perdana Leadership Foundation; Fellow, Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia and Shariah Committee Member for Citibank Malaysia. Normah Omar is professor and director of Accounting Research Institute (ARI), Universiti Technology Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. She awarded her PhD in Accounting and CPA from Australia. Her Research Interest on Financial Criminology, Forensic Accounting and Corporate Integrity. Recently she focusing on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism: Roles and Functions of Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions. She is expert operational Review Panel Member, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission; Vice Chairman Asia-Pacifi c Management Accounting Association; Head of Corporate Integrity Research Group with Malaysian Institute of Integrity; Various research and grants-related committee at Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. She awarded UiTM Best Researcher (2006 & 2007); UiTM Best Academic Award (2008); Global Islamic Finance Awards 2014; Global Islamic Finance Awards 2015; and ACQ Global Awards 2015.

Norsiah Aminudin is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management in the Institute of Academic of Excellence in . She is currently a course leader for Human Resource Management. Associate Professor Dr Norsiah received her BA in Business Study from Ohio Athen University, USA, and M.A in Human Resource Management from University of Newcastle-upon Tyne, UK and Ph.D in Human Resource Management from University of Strathclyde, UK. Associate Professor Norsiah is a human resource expert with consulting, research and teaching experiences in human resource management, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation management, industrial relations, organizational behaviour, cross cultural management and entrepreneurship. Associate Professor Dr Norsiah has done consulting work for oil and gas, Petronas, National R&D Centre and Information Communication & Technology (MIMOS) and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysia. Associate Professor Dr Norsiah has over 20 papers published in national and international journals and have been cited 30 times. Associate Professor Norsiah is also a chief editor for Selangor Business Review in 2016. Associate Professor Dr Norsiah has supervised 15 doctoral thesis at University Kebangsaan Malaysia, University Selangor and Open University Malaysia. Shahida Shahimi earned both her M.Ecs. and Ph.D from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (The National University of Malaysia), UKM. She attained her Bachelor of Syariah (Economics) Hons. from University of Malaya. Shahida began her career as an academic at the Department of Statistics and Islamic Economics, Faculty of Economics, UKM in June 2001. Currently, she is the Head of Postgraduate Program and Editorial Board of Jurnal Ekonomi Malaysia (Malaysian Journal of Economics) at the Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM. The journal is indexed by Scopus. She is also the Exco of the International Council of Islamic Finance Educators (ICIFE). With regard to her expertise in the fi eld of Islamic economics and fi nance, she was appointed as Associate Research Fellow of the International Research Centre of Islamic Economics and Finance (IRCIEF), International Islamic University College Selangor (KUIS), Malaysia. Shahida was an academic research fellow at Institute of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (IMEIS), Durham University in 2008 and a visiting associate professor at Center for Islamic Area Studies (KIAS), Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies (ASAFAS), Kyoto University, Japan in 2012. She is also a member of the Malaysia Finance Association (MFA) and MyKyoto. Shahida has been an external examiner and academic program assessor for several national level universities. She has published numerous journal articles, books and proceedings in the fi elds of Islamic banking, sukuk, shariah audit, case studies and human capital in Islamic fi nance. She has been supervising postgraduate and undergraduate students in UKM and University Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).

Shamshubaridah Ramlee is the Director Centre Entrepreneurship and SME’s Development (CESMED), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She holds a Bachelor in (Hons) Business Administration (BBA- ITM-OHIO UNIVERSITY.) She received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor in Business Management (DBA) from The National University of Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia. Prior to joining the academia, Prof. Dr. Shamshubaridah was attached with Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad for 10 years. Her background in the areas of fi nance and banking have infl uenced much of her academic work related to the small medium enterprises (SMEs) where entrepreneurship forms a big part in the management of SMEs. As a director of the UKM-CESMED, she has taken the role of a module designer and trainer in the areas of small business management and entrepreneurship development and entrepreneurship education programs. She was instrumental in the design of entrepreneurship modules for SMEs. Her consultancy works amongst others include those in the Johor state growth plans and East Corridor Economic Region where the socioeconomics and entrepreneurship components are a major part of the consultancy works. She is currently appointed as the board member of UniMARA Sdn. Bhd. Professional Certifi cate for Entrepreneurial Educators.

Abu Dzarr bin Muhammad Rus is a lecturer of Economics in the Department of Integrity and Environment in the University of Selangor. He received his Bachelor in Economics from Northern University of Malaysia, Malaysia, and Master in Economics from the National University of Malaysia, Malaysia. He is currently holding a position of assistant of Economics cluster in the Faculty of Business and Accountancy in University of Selangor, Malaysia.

Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad is a lecturer and Deputy Director (Training and Linkages) at the International Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, Bayero University Kano- Nigeria. He holds B.Sc Economics from Bayero University Kano in 2003, Masters and Ph.D in Economics from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2008 and 2012 respectively. His research interests include Islamic microfi nance and poverty reduction. He received the Faculty of Economics Best Student Award for Doctor of Economics in November, 2013. He also received a gold medal at “IIUM Research, Invention and Innovation Exhibition 2013″ for his thesis entitled “Challenges of Microfi nance and the Prospects of Developing and Introducing an Islamic Micro- Investment Model in Nigeria”. Muhammad presented and published several articles on Islamic economics, fi nance, risk management, microfi nance, entrepreneurial development and microfi nance among others. He also received Certifi cate of Excellence in Research Award presented by Clute Institute, US, for publication in Journal of Applied Business Research, 22nd March, 2014. He visited many countries including Turkey, South Africa, Malaysia, Philippine, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia among others. He was a visiting scholar at Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Islamic Development Bank Jeddah between May and June 2016. Currently, Dr Aliyu is an Academic Fellow, Islamic Relief Academy (IRA), United Kingdom, from 2015 to date. He is a member of International Editorial Advisory Board of Journal of Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance (IJEBF) and Bayero International Journal of Islamic Banking and Finance (BIJIF) among others H supervised a PhD and several academic Masters. Musa Sani holds a Masters Degree in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, Bayero University Kano. Prior to that, he received a Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance from School of Management Studies, Kano State Polytechnic. Musa Sani was a seasoned Bank Employee and now working with a Pension Fund Administrator in Nigeria. He has published two articles in Nigeria Based journals (Sokoto Journal of Management studies. Vol:10, No:1.2016 P:240:254 and Ilorin Journal of Management Science, Vol.2. No.2 2015. P:27:37), He also contributes articles on print media. Musa attended and presented papers at the Second and Third International conference on Islamic Banking and Finance, organized by International Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, Bayero University Kano. He is analyst of Islamic Finance in Nigeria and beyond. His main areas of research interest include: Shariah Compliant Fund Management, Islamic Financial Market and Islamic Insurance. Abdul Fattah Abdul Ganiyy is a senior lecturer in the department of Accountancy in The Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, Nigeria. He holds a BSc in Demography and Social Statistics and MBA (Finance). He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He was a lecturer in the department of Mathematics and Statistics of Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria between 1987 and 1991. He later worked as Assistant Manager (Audit), Plant Accountant and Plant Finance Manager with Nigerian Bottling Company Plc between 1991 and 2005. AbdulFattah joined the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda as Lecturer in 2008 and teaches Quantitative Techniques, Management Accounting, Taxation and Financial Management in the department of Accountancy. He is currently pursuing a PhD programme in Islamic Finance and Banking at Universiti Utara Malaysia. AbdulFattah has published in both local and international journals and also presented papers. His area of interest include risk management, Islamic fi nance and banking.

Nor Hayati Ahmad holds a degree in Business Administration from Ohio University, USA and Masters of Science in Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). She obtained a PhD in Banking from a twinning program UUM-Monash University, Australia in 2003. Prior to joining UUM, Dr Hayati had 15 years of industry experience with early trainings in Wespac Bank, Sydney, Australia; subsequently in a fi nancial conglomerate in Malaysia. On the market practice, her experience covered jobs such as investment analysis, project evaluation, corporate banking and capital market, corporate advisory and corporate planning. In 1984, she switched to academic line and to date, has 20 years of academic experience. She is a Professor in Banking and Finance and held several deanships in UUM. Dr Nor Hayati sits on Banking and Finance program Authors Bio 183 advisory board and is an external assessor to several banking and fi nance postgraduate programs of several public and private universities. Dr Nor Hayati sits in editorial boards of several refereed journals and a board member of an Investment committee of a Malaysian bank. On the postgraduate level, 13 PhD and 2 DBA students, and 30 master students had graduated under her supervision over the last 14 years. She has been an internal and external examiner for PhD candidates from various universities including UPM, USM, UM, IIUM, UTHM and INCEIF. Prof Hayati had published in Scopus indexed journals In the areas of banking, risk management and fi nance and had secured national and international grants from the Malaysian governments, corporate bodies Islamic Development Bank. Currently, she is the Vice President of International Council of Islamic Finance Educators (INCEIF), a body set up to spearhead national thrust of establishing a global Islamic Finance education hub.

Zainol, Zairy is a lecturer at Islamic Business School, Universiti Utara Malaysia. He earned his BA (Syariah) (Hons.) from University of Malaya. He was awarded his Master Degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and received his PhD Degree in 2015 from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Zairy has published his research in several refereed journals namely, Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business Research, Journal of Economic Cooperation and Development and Pacifi c Basin Finance Journal. He has also presented papers in international and local conferences. His research interests include risk management, Islamic economics and Islamic banking.

Ishaq Muhammad Mustapha is a PhD fellow at the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) and a doctoral student in Islamic Finance at INCEIF, The Global University of Islamic Finance. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (CIIF). He is also tutor for Financial and Advanced Econometrics in Islamic fi nance and had a prior experience in teaching economics and Islamic Development Studies in schools. He had studied Islamic Banking and Finance at the Masters level in Bayero University Kano, Nigeria, before enrolling for another Master of Science in Islamic Finance at INCEIF where he excelled and graduated top 5%. Before that, he had received a BSc in Economics from Al-hikmah University, Ilorin – Nigeria. He also served a member of Secretariat for the House of the representative committee on Banking and Currency at the National Assembly, Nigeria. Mohammad Hassan Shakil is a PhD candidate at the INCEIF-The Global University of Islamic Finance, Malaysia. He received his MSc in Islamic Finance degree from the same institute and was the recipient of Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI- IDB) Masters Scholarship for the academic year 2015-16. In his Master’s program, Hassan has undertaken a few research project funded by his university and Malaysian Government. Currently, he is working on a project titled Audit Committee Practices in Malaysia funded by Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University, UK. Prior that, he successfully completed two projects titled ‘The Impact of Shariah Governance Reform 2011 on the Eff ectiveness of Sukuk Credit Rating in Malaysia’ and ‘Ethical Dimensions of Islamic Finance’ funded by ISRA, a research institute of Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia). Prior to INCEIF, Hassan completed his Bachelor in Finance and Banking at the International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh. He received the Vice Gold Medal Award for his academic excellence. Apart from this, Hassan has presented a few papers in renowned conferences in Bangladesh and Malaysia. He received the best paper award at the 3rd International Muamalat and Entrepreneurship Conference 2016, Putrajaya, Malaysia for the paper titled “The Issues and Challenges in Hedging: An Islamic Perspective”.

Junaid Abba Sulaiman received his Masters of Science in Islamic Finance degree from the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In his Master’s program, he has worked on diff erent research projects focusing on Takaful and Risk Management. He has attended several conferences and seminars on Islamic Finance. He did his Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from the Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Muhamad Abduh is an Assistant Professor at School of Business and Economics, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). He had published more than 45 articles in various international refereed journals and presented papers in more than 25 international conferences.
