G 0 o KOMMUNFULLMÄKTIGE Motioner 2001:1 T 9 2001:1 Motion av Rebwar Hassan och Christopher Öd- mann (båda mp) om krav på testat kött i skolor och på andra kommunala inrättningar m.m. När miljöpartister under årens lopp har föreslagit att endast KRAV-märkta eller motsvarande råvaror ska serveras i skolor och på andra kommunala in- rättningar, har avslagen från ansvariga politiker motiverats med att detta är inget kommunen ska lägga sig i och att statliga myndigheter i övrigt svarar för kvalitetskontrollen. I dag vet alla bättre och rädslan för nervsjukdomen BSE märks numera även på lrekrogar, där man helst använder ursprungsbetecknat kött. BSE sprids genom den bisarra idéen att utfordra vegetarianer, som kor och får är, med köttmjöl från kadaver (sjuka och självdöda djur som malts ner). I Sverige har hittills den ansvariga jordbruksministern inte velat inse allvaret i frågan vilket gör det ännu angelägnare att på kommunal nivå skydda så många invå- nare som möjligt. Oskarshamns kommun har visat vägen genom att sluta servera även svenskt kött. Låt oss i Stockholm reagera lika snabbt och kraftfullt. I detta fall om nå- got bör försiktighetsprincipen råda. Samtidigt bör Stockholms stad hos regeringen hemställa att testning av kött genomförs i hela landet. Den uppkomna debatten bör föras i ett vidare perspektiv. Frågor om djur- hållning, livsmedel, etik och hälsa bör diskuteras bl a i stadens skolor. Med- vetna konsumenter kan göra egna val kring den mat de önskar äta och välja bort produkter de anser oetiska eller ohälsosamma. Med hänvisning till ovanstående föreslår vi att kommunfullmäktige beslu- tar att Stockholms stad endast ska servera garanterat smittfritt kött, d.v.s. -

These events include street parades, motor races, cycling races, jazz festivals, cultural celebrations, sporting events, open air theatres and concerts, and balls or dance parties and can often attract large numbers of people. A lot of time and effort goes into planning and promoting these events and they are often seen as a way of creating employment and providing economic benefits for the local community. Councils play a variety of roles, from event manager to consent authority, and have to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages for everyone in their community before they give approval for the event to go ahead. Events are often complex and may depend on approvals from a range of different agencies. The key to staging a successful event is good communication, as early as possible in the process, between the promoter of the event and the local council and other consent authorities such as the Police and the Environment Protection Authority. -

(2) That the Committee also report on methods by which such information may best be accessed by the community. (3) That the Committee have the power to send for persons and papers, to sit on days over which the House stands adjourned, to move from place to place, to report from time to time, and to confer with any committee of the Legislative Assembly as it thinks appropriate. (4) That the Committee finally report on 30 November 1998. Extension to Reporting Date On 26 November 1998 the House resolved that the reporting date be extended to 30 April 1999. No, 3299. An Act to sanction the Issue and Appli cation of certain Sums of Monev available under Loan Acts for Rail ways and for other purposes. [30th November, 1923.] E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty by B and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Victoria in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows (that is to say):— Short title, 1. This Act may be cited as the Railway Loan Application Act 1923. Issue and 2. There may be issued and applied out of any loan application of £2,630,000 out authorized by Parliament and out of any moneys in the of loan funds for railways or Railway Loans Repayment Fund and appropriated by tramways and works. Parliament for the construction of railways or tramways and works connected with either (including rolling-stock) any 14 GEO. V.] Railway Loan Application. [No. 3299 111 any sums of monevnot exceeding in the whole Two million six hundred and thirty thousand pounds for the works and purposes mentioned in the Schedule to this Act schedule, and in sums not exceeding the amounts specified therein in the column headed u Amount Issued and Applied" and with the sanction of the Minister the Victorian Railways Commissioners may enter upon take and use such lands as are required for any of the purposes specified in the Schedule to this Act. and the provisions of sub section (3) of section eighty of the Railways Act 1.915 fgo^)2710 shall extend and apply to the exercise of the powers conferred by this section with respect to such lands. -

BORDER RAILWAYS ACT. Act No. 16, 1922. An Act to ratify and provide for carrying out an agreement between the States of New South Wales and Victoria respecting the construc tion, maintenance, and operation of certain lines of railway from the State of Victoria into the State of New South Wales, the con struction and maintenance of certain bridges over the River Murray, and other works ; to amend the Public Works Act, 1912, and certain other Acts ; and for purposes con nected therewith. [Assented to, 26th October, 1922.] WHEREAS WHEREAS the Premiers of the States of New South "Wales and Victoria have entered into an agreement, a copy of which is set out in the Schedule, subject to ratification by the Parliaments of the said States during the year one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two: And whereas it is desirable to ratify and to provide for carrying out the said agreement: Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :— 1. This Act may be cited as the "Border Railways Act, 1922." 2. This Act shall bind the Crown. 3. This Act shall come into force on the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty- three, but the Governor may, if the Parliament of the State of Victoria has not passed an Act ratifying the agreement and complying therewith before that date by proclamation published in the Gazette, suspend the operation of this Act for such time as he may think fit.
