Nine Thanatus species are recorded Walckenaer, 1826 [Platnick, 2013]. In the world fauna from Crimea: T. arenarius L. Koch, 1872; T. atratus (except Australia and New Zealand), the genus con- Simon, 1875; T. formicinus (Clerck, 1757); T. imbecil- tains 96 species, of which the majority are known from lus L. Koch, 1878; T. mongolicus (Schenkel, 1936); T. the Holarctic Region [Platnick, 2013]. Overall, the ge- oblongiusculus (Lucas, 1846); T. pictus L.
