A further 25% increase in housing stock (85 homes) is currently being constructed upon the previous 'chicken factory' site. St Modwen have clearly taken advantage of the intervening period of over three months since the first deadline for submission of comments to develop their application to try and deflect some of the concerns expressed about the original plans. It seems to be a quirk of the planning system that by comparison with St Modwen we have been allowed only 14 days to look at a further tranche of substantial documents. However despite the revisions and further embellishments, the basic plan to deliver c. 1 million of B8 storage remains unchanged and my objections outlined in my first letter of objection dated May 5th therefore remain. I do however want to make the following further comments. 1. I am confident that you have the experience in planning applications to see past some of St Modwens tactics and the rosy picture that they try and paint. I am concerned however by the licence that they take and the gross inaccuracies and factual errors in so much of their work. For example in para 14 of the response to Spatial Planning they say 'Furthermore, it (jct 17) represents the only motorway junction within Wiltshire.......'.

    Kington Langley and Draycot Cerne Village Magazine July 2020 Issue no. 491 1 Services at St Peter’s for July 2020 and across the Draycot Group of Churches At the time of writing (11th June) arrangements are still being made, but we are expecting that the churches in Draycot Benefice will be open for private prayer at set times on Sundays starting on June st21 . Some of our churches may also be open for limited times during the week. Please check notices on the church door or contact Church wardens as things are changing very quickly. We are very aware of our responsibilities towards public health and will be taking steps to ensure that our buildings have been adequately cleaned and sanitised ahead of opening. The limited opening times allow us to keep the buildings safe and clean for you. Social distancing and minimal contact must be observed at all times. We simply ask you to wash your hands before leaving home, to use the hand sanitiser provided, and to use seating as directed locally. We can also announce that funerals inside churches will now be permitted, subject to attendance restrictions and with limited staffing, and we look forward in due course to being able to resume public acts of worship. In the meantime we continue to offer online worship via Zoom on Thursdays at 11.30am.     Online Comments Application No 17/03417/OUT I OBJECT to this application for the following reasons. 1. There has been no consultation with the local village residents as far as I am aware. 2. The impact on the size/height of the unit is not in keeping with the environment. How can it even be considered that a building the largest in Europe is acceptable in a designated small village. 3. The impact on the environment to wildlife is a concern on this greenfield site particularly with the brook which has its source on the site. With a site this large the run off could cause increase to flooding to the road B4122 near to Draycot Park and also affect the village of Sutton Benger. 4. The noise and light pollution will be considerably increased on a site this size. The reversing indicators on lorries (beeping) will travel to the neighbouring village residents. Comments: 5. Traffic is already a concern through the villages of Kington Langley, Draycot Cerne and Sutton Benger. The air pollution will be compromised. With the villages being used as a cut through in busy times to avoid the A roads in the area that become congested. This will be a danger to the residents in the villages. 6. The M4 slip roads are already congested onto the main roads of the M4 during peak periods. With the Dyson project on the North side of the M4 progressing however is a further development even considered viable without causing further traffic chaos. 7. It has to be asked who wants these units and why is there a need to build when there is already agreed planning on Junction 15 near Swindon that has not progressed due to no takers for the units.
