Robert Francis Kilvert was born at Hardenhuish (Harnish) Rectory 3/12/1840, the son of Rev Robert Kilvert & his wife Thermuthius Cole. He was also descended from the Ashe family – Samuel Ashe was a curate at Hardenhuish in the late 1700s.
