After a mix-up at the border, an Egyptian Police Band is sent to a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways. THE BAND’S VISIT world premiere opened to critical acclaim at the Atlantic Theater Company on December 8, 2016, where the sold-out, limited engagement extended twice. The show then opened at Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre and went on to play 589 regular performance and 36 previews before closing on April 7, 2019. THE BAND’S VISIT broke the all-time box office record at Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre twice. With music and lyrics by Tony and Drama Desk Award® winner David Yazbek, and a book by Tony, NY Drama Critics Circle®, Lortel® and Outer Critics Circle® award winner Itamar Moses, THE BAND’S VISIT has won “Best Musical” awards from the Tony Awards, Drama League®, New York Drama Critics’ Circle, the Outer Critics Circle, the Lucille Lortel and the Obies®. Natasha Gordon will take the role of Lorraine in her debut play, for which she has recently been nominated for the Best Writer Award in The Stage newspaper’s ‘Debut Awards’. She is joined by Oliver Alvin-Wilson (Robert), Michelle Greenidge (Trudy), also nominated in the Stage Awards for Best West End Debut, Hattie Ladbury (Sophie), Rebekah Murrell (Anita) and Cecilia Noble (Aunt Maggie) who return to their celebrated NT roles, and Karl Collins (Uncle Vince) who completes the West End cast. Directed by Roy Alexander Weise (The Mountaintop), Nine Night is a touching and exuberantly funny exploration of the rituals of family. Gloria is gravely sick. When her time comes, the celebration begins; the traditional Jamaican Nine Night Wake. But for Gloria’s children and grandchildren, marking her death with a party that lasts over a week is a test. Nine rum-fuelled nights of music, food, storytelling and laughter – and an endless parade of mourners. The production is designed by Rajha Shakiry, with lighting design by Paule Constable, sound design by George Dennis, movement direction by Shelley Maxwell, company voice work and dialect coaching by Hazel Holder, and the Resident Director is Jade Lewis.

Tim McFarlane has joined the TEG senior management team as Executive Chairman of Trafalgar Entertainment Asia-Pacific Pty Limited and Andrew Hill has been appointed as Business Affairs Director of Trafalgar Entertainment Group. Tim commenced his role earlier this autumn and is based in Sydney, whilst Andrew commences work on 1 November at TEG’s London office on The Strand. Both Tim and Andrew have previously worked with Howard and Rosemary as they built one of the world’s largest and most successful live theatre businesses, the Ambassador Theatre Group. At TEG, Tim is already working on various Australian projects, and he will be driving TEG’s international strategy to build and strengthen relationships and partnerships in the Asia Pacific region. Andrew will be responsible for overseeing the company’s planned future growth, acquisitions and business development.
