The season follows an unprecedented, sold-out tour of over 80 venues the length and breadth of the UK in celebration of McKellen’s 80th birthday year. Tickets are on sale today. The acclaimed tour has thus far raised over £1million for causes related to the venues it has visited and will pass £2million when it ends in Orkney in August. The total target for money raised by the end of the tour and West End run is £3million. Tickets for the new West End run will go on sale at 10am on Friday 14 June 2019 via www.ianonstage.co.uk including 80 tickets per performance for just £10. I’ve played mainly in theatres I knew well as a young theatregoer and actor. On my birthday, I was in Bolton Town Hall where my dad used to work. It began last February with 15 theatres in Greater London and will end in Orkney. Soon I will be back in London, for a limited season in the West End, raising much-needed funds for theatre charities. Directed by Roy Alexander Weise (The Mountaintop), Nine Night is a touching and exuberantly funny exploration of the rituals of family. Gloria is gravely sick. When her time comes, the celebration begins; the traditional Jamaican Nine Night Wake. But for Gloria’s children and grandchildren, marking her death with a party that lasts over a week is a test. Nine rum-fuelled nights of music, food, storytelling and laughter – and an endless parade of mourners. The production is designed by Rajha Shakiry, with lighting design by Paule Constable, sound design by George Dennis, movement direction by Shelley Maxwell, company voice work and dialect coaching by Hazel Holder, and the Resident Director is Jade Lewis.

Tim McFarlane has joined the TEG senior management team as Executive Chairman of Trafalgar Entertainment Asia-Pacific Pty Limited and Andrew Hill has been appointed as Business Affairs Director of Trafalgar Entertainment Group. Tim commenced his role earlier this autumn and is based in Sydney, whilst Andrew commences work on 1 November at TEG’s London office on The Strand. Both Tim and Andrew have previously worked with Howard and Rosemary as they built one of the world’s largest and most successful live theatre businesses, the Ambassador Theatre Group. At TEG, Tim is already working on various Australian projects, and he will be driving TEG’s international strategy to build and strengthen relationships and partnerships in the Asia Pacific region. Andrew will be responsible for overseeing the company’s planned future growth, acquisitions and business development. Press Release 21 October 2013 GLOBAL PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM PROVIDENCE EQUITY PARTNERS REACHES AGREEMENT TO BECOME MAJORITY SHAREHOLDER IN ATG The Ambassador Theatre Group Ltd (ATG) today announces that an agreement has been reached for global private equity firm Providence Equity Partners to become a major shareholder in the company, having successfully reached agreement for its seventh fund to purchase a majority share from current investors led by Exponent Private Equity. Exponent retains a minority stake in ATG as part of the deal, and will continue to work with Providence and the existing management team including ATG’s Joint CEOs and co-Founders Sir Howard Panter and Rosemary Squire OBE. Greg Dyke will continue in his role as ATG Chairman. Providence is the world's leading private equity firm focused on media, communications, education and information investments. The firm manages funds with $37 billion in commitments and has invested in more than 130 companies globally since its inception in 1989.
