Thereby the high variety of the both countries research studies is made clear, hich is transferred into continuative cooperations bet een science and industry in Iran and Germany. The project as financed by the Department of Foreign Affairs in the context of the +,urop-isch/Islamischen Kulturdialog“ /,I.0. 1y special thanks go to the German Academic ,xchange Service /DAAD0. 3ithout its engagement and organisation this project would not have been realisable. 3e are much obliged to all involved people in Iran and Germany ho made and make this joined project and the continuative cooperation possible. In paricular my thanks go to Dr. Assareh, Dr. Farahpour as ell as the partnership authorised person in Iran 1r. 1. Sc. Hossein Hosseinkhani from the Research Institute for Forests and Rangelands, Teheran for their indefatigable engagement to continue this project. The ood production is next to its environment- and protection function one of the most important attributes of the forest. Germany shows ith E,E 1rd. mF of all ,uropean countries the highest stock of ood, in hich only ca. 60 H of the ood stock used in terms of a sustainable utili7ation (CHI, 200I0. The derived timber product industry adds for stability of forest as in terms of a sustainable ood utilisation as soon as an intensive ood care inferior thinning material ill be taken from and the increment support ill be advanced.
