We recently received the resignation of Larry Elliot who has served on our board in various positions and most notably as the long-time coordinator of the Annual Golf Tourney and BBQ. Larry, your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and on behalf of the entire Transportation Club we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for the significant contributions you have made over the years. Thank you, Larry.

We moved this annual event to the Holiday Park Golf course. While the weather was not spectacular we did not get rained out! The evening was hosted by Gayleen Creelman and due to the overwhelming support of all our members we had prizes to go around for everyone. The main door prize of a DVD Home Theatre was donated by Jay’s – the lucky winner was Dan Deslauriers. Earl Driedger and George Shand each won a $75 gift certificate sponsored by the Saskatoon Transportation Club. Chris Zacharias won the leather jacket donated by Winn Bay Sand .

The Salvation Army assisted over 3,000 families last Christmas by providing food hampers and toys from the funds raised in their annual Ring the Bells kettles. The Saskatoon Transportation Club has been asked to provide volunteers to stand at the kettles and ring the bells for Saturday, December 20 th from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm at the Midtown Plaza (outside of Sears). To take on this project, we need a minimum of seven (7) volunteers to sign-up for a one-hour time slot. Please e-mail your confirmation no later than October 31 st to [email protected] . If we do not have enough volunteers we will advise the Salvation Army accordingly. Please help us help our community!
