The second-generation Taita Taveta County Integrated Development Plan 2018-22 was successfully prepared under the executive stewardship of the County Executive Committee Members in close collaboration with departmental Sector Working Groups (SWGs), Civil Society Organizations, Community-based groups and the private sector. The preparation of this CIDP adopted a consultative approach with greater emphasis on public participation in order to capture the peoples’ priority needs and ownership of the county development programmes.

Deputy Speaker, I wish to present a public petition on renewal of land leases in Nandi County PETITIONS RENEWAL OF LAND LEASES IN NANDI COUNTY I, the undersigned, on behalf of residents of Nandi County, draw the attention of the House to the following: THAT, the British Empire established the East Africa Protectorate in 1895 and the Kenya Colony in 1920; THAT, in 1895, the colonial administration allegedly evicted the Nandi community from their ancestral land, currently occupied by multi-national tea companies; THAT, in 1941, the British Colonial Government mapped areas in Nandi County and, in particular, Nandi Hills and Tinderet constituencies; THAT, the white settlers settled in the White Highlands and established tea plantations, which are still in existence to date; THAT, in 1963, the ownership was legalized through the land tenure-lease period of 999 years upon attainment of Independence and the multinational companies continued to occupy the said parcels of land; THAT, the new Constitution of Kenya 2010, brought along major changes to the tenure of land ownership, where it reduced leases from 999 to 99 years. Eighty-nine of these belonging to some 41 genera were recorded from Kenya. The new list contains some 106 forms of 46 genera. - Three full species have been deleted from Loveridge's original checklist. Typhlops b. blanfordii has been synonymised with Typhlops I. lineolatus, Typhlops kaimosae has been synonymised with Typhlops angolensis (Roux-Esteve 1974) and Co/uber citeroii has been synonymised with Meizodon semiornatus (Lanza 1963). Of the 20 forms added to the list, 12 are forms collected for the first time in Kenya but occurring outside its political boundaries and one, Atheris desaixi is a new species, the holotype and paratypes being collected within Kenya. There has also been a large number of changes amongst the 89 original species as a result of revisionary systematic studies. This accounts for the other additions to the list. INTRODUCTION The most recent checklist dealing with the snakes of Kenya is Loveridge (1957). Since that date there has been a significant number of developments in the Kenyan herpetological field. This paper intends to update the nomenclature in the part of the checklist that concerns the snakes of Kenya and to extend the list to include all the species now known to occur within the political boundaries of Kenya. It also provides the range of each species within Kenya with specific locality records .

De klink van het Basis- en het Hollandveen is er medeverantwoordelijk voor dat er in Nederland geen aanwijzingen worden gevonden voor hoge holocene zeestanden. 5. De geringschatting van het belang van onderwijs en onderzoek in de geologie en geomorfologie aan de Landbouwuniversiteit te Wageningen is een uiting van onwetenschappelijk doe-het-zelf-denken. 6. Zolang de programmatuur voor het opnemen, opslaan en opvragen van kaarteringsgegevens minder flexibel is dan een veldboekje staat het gebruik van handterminals en veldcomputers vernieuwing in de weg. 7. De betrouwbaarheidsgrens van 25 000 jaar voor de datering van organische carbqnaten met behulp van de 14C-methode is te hoog.. Dit proefschrift. 8. Het woord automatisering wekt onjuiste verwachtingen als het gaat om de invoering en het gebruik van computers. 9. Kerkelijke liedboeken behoren losbladig te zijn. 10. Kenya is not left behind, it is one of the countries that has become extremely unbearable for the EHRDs to survive in. In this regard, CJGEA came up with an initiative to empower EHRDs countrywide to ensure they are protected and feel secure when handling their work. This was also to ensure environmental protection and conservation work continues smoothly. For the past three years, EHRDs drawn from all over the country under the banner of CJGEA have been meeting annually for a workshop to deliberate on the issues that affect them and the work they do so as to better their work in protecting the environment.

    BOMET MUNICIPALITY BOMET CUIDS REVIEWED F/Y 2019/2020 Page 1 BOMET COUNTY PRESENTATION 1.0 URBANIZATION, URBAN MANAGEMENT AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN THE COUNTY 1.1. Urbanization and urban development in the county A large part of the county is characterized by undulating topography that gives way to flatter terrain in the south. The overall slope of the land is towards the south, except the north eastern part which rises eastwards towards the 3,000m high Mau Ridges. The land slopes gently from Kericho plateau to about 1,800m in the lower area where the land is generally flat with a few scattered hills in Chepalungu and Sigor plain. The growing trend where a majority of the World’s population lives in urban areas is indeed universal. Urbanization is strongly associated with economic growth and indeed Vision 2030, Kenya’s blue print for long-term development, shows that over 60 percent of Kenyans will be living in towns by the year 2030 and will number 38 million people in a population of 60 million. About 27% of the population in Bomet county live in urban areas Page 2 Besides the predominantly rural setting of the County, there are number of Key centers of urbanization such as Bomet Municipality Sotik town Mogogosiek, Sigor, Ndanai, Siongiroi, Mulot, Chebole among others. Mulot is one of the fastest growing towns in Bomet. It is located within the border of Bomet and Narok counties. Cattle trading and slaughtering is the main commercial activity in the area, making the town an important commercial centre. There is an attempt to plan the town during 2019/2020 fiscal year.
