IMPACT REPORT 2016

1 SECTION TITLE

2016 was an unprecedented election year where healthcare THANK YOU FOR and equality were not only hot button issues, but divisive ones. Educating the public about the importance of maternal health is more crucial today than ever before. In light of the state of ANOTHER YEAR maternal health in the United States, we continued production on our Giving Birth in America series, this time focusing a lens OF PARTNERSHIP IN on maternity care in Louisiana. Our organization continues to evolve and grow. This year we introduced new members to our team, promoted from within, THE GLOBAL EFFORT and I stepped into the role of CEO. In conjunction with our Mother's Day campaign, we introduced the Orange Rose, a beautiful symbol for maternal health. The campaign also TO END PREVENTABLE included a collection of orange rose inspired gifts that partners created, all benefiting Every Mother Counts.

MATERNAL DEATHS This year, we fulfilled our goal of investing in all of the countries profiled in No Woman, No Cry. Our grant portfolio now includes partners in , , Haiti, India, , AND DISABILITIES. Uganda, and the United States.

As I write this, we are living in a time of uncertainty, and healthcare continues to be a growing concern. Every Mother Counts remains committed to keeping the health and well-being of the world’s mothers at the forefront of the conversation. And, we promise to continue sharing the human stories behind the global statistics to further educate individuals and inspire action.

To date, our work has impacted more than 500,000 lives, but we have so much more to do.

I hope you will take a moment to review some of our accomplishments and milestones.

I am personally so grateful for all that you do to support Every Mother Counts.

With love,

Christy Turlington Burns Founder & CEO IMPACT REPORT 2016 3 MISSION ACCOMPLISHMENTS TO DATE
