Toasty aromas of roasted nuts, baked berries, charcoal, and clay with a silky, dryish light-to-medium body and smooth, refreshing, berry finish URBAN MALBEC 2015 ORG 14 £12.19 Classic Argentinian Malbec from scary-high windswept Mendoza vineyards. Oh to slap down a ribeye next to a glass of this nectar VERUM SELECCION FAMILIA CABERNET FRANC 14 £16.99 Classic elements of Cabernet Franc on the nose- wild strawberry, pencil shavings 2014 and a hint of blackcurrant. This is riper than a typical old world Cabernet Franc with more depth of fruit and hint of mint. Full bodied palate is elegant with firm tannins but a balancing acidity. Aged for 12 months in new French oak. ALGODON MALBEC 2012 14.5 £18.85 This red epitomises luxury. Big, dense, full, rich and unbelievably tasty. Amazing wine. Ripe black fruits, autumnal notes, vanilla, cherry liqueur, damson and raisins with soft smoky tannins. LOS HAROLDOS HERMANDAD MALBEC 2015 14 £19.19 Expertly-made top-notch red. Really incredible, luxury Malbec from their best field of grapes. 1100m altitude. All French oak. Would cellar for a decade or so. ALANDES PARADOUX BLEND N.V. by Altocedro 15 £20.99 STUNNING blend of Malbec, Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot, Merlot & Cab Franc. Non- Vintage. ONLY 2900 bottles made. Very, very fine indeed. TRENTHAM NEBBIOLO 2013 SC V V 13.5 £12.45 Effectively a Barolo made in Australia. Hauntingly aromatic with an intoxicating perfume of roses, orange pith, tar and tea. A juicy, medium-bodied, elegant, svelte mouthful. Amazing stuff BREMERTON SELKIRK SHIRAZ 2014/15 SC 14 £14.99 The grapes for the Selkirk Shiraz are 100% Langhorne Creek & estate grown. It has a deep vibrant colour, a lifted pepper aroma, rich berry fruit & a hint of sweetness with hints of coconut oak. HOLLICK CABERNET/MERLOT 2012 SC 14.5 £16.35 Really gorgeous nose; ripe and sweet with mint leaf and eucalyptus, masses of cassis and red cherry and some juicy raspberry lifts the character. BREMERTON MALBEC 2014 SC 14.5 £16.59 Intense and ripe brambley malbe with violets, spice and lovely cedary oak. Soft, smooth and seductive. THORN-CLARKE SHOTFIRE SHIRAZ 2014 SC 14.5 £16.75 Full bodied, complex and textured with sweet blackberry, plum, cinnamon and clove. CORIOLE ESTATE SHIRAZ 2013 SC V V 14.5 £17.49 Spicy with persistent fruit but balanced by fine, grippy tannins (the drying effect of grapes skins). Really elegant fine, young Shiraz. Good cellaring material, although super-drinkable now. TRENTHAM HEATHCOTE SHIRAZ 2014 SC 14.5 £18.25 Bloody marvellous stuff. Rich and balanced showing lifted fruit aromas of pepper, plum, dark cherry and chocolate. The palate is long, ripe and supple with smooth sweet dark fruit and toasty oak HOLLICK CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013 SC 14.5 £19.09 This is possibly the best cabernet you can buy from Australian shores. Liqueur cherries, sweet forest fruits and menthol. An elegant wine, with layers of dark berry fruit and vanilla oak. A blend of grapes from the Western slopes of the Barossa & Eden valley.
