Objective To determine the knowledge, attitude, and practice of antenatal attendees towards COVID‐19 in Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, Nigeria. Methods A cross‐sectional survey was carried out among 430 consenting pregnant women attending antenatal clinics between March 1 and May 30, 2020, using pretested questionnaires. Results The mean age and mean gestational age of the respondents were 30.04 years (95% confidence interval [CI] 28.9–31.1) and 26.3 weeks (95% CI 23.3–29.3), respectively. More than four‐fifths (82%) of the women believed that COVID‐19 is real and their main source of information was mass media. The majority had adequate knowledge of COVID‐19. More than half of the respondents said COVID‐19 is a curable disease and that chloroquine can be used. The majority showed a good attitude and preventice practice of COVID‐19 disease; however, one‐fourth (24%) thought that infected individuals should be killed to prevent the spread of the virus. Conclusion The study population has good knowledge, attitude, and practice of COVID‐19 disease. However, it is worrisome that some respondents thought that infected individuals should be killed. Proper education must be given to the populace to avert these negative attitudes while promoting a positive preventive attitude. The study population has adequate knowledge, good attitude, and preventive practice of COVID‐19; however, community education is needed to reduce anxiety among the populace. The healthcare system should ensure the provision of safe and quality care to women during pregnancy, labor, and childbirth, and at the same time, maternity care providers including obstetricians and midwives must be protected and prioritized to continue providing care to childbearing women and their babies during the pandemic. Objective To evaluate the clinical characteristics and laboratory test results in pregnant women with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19). Methods A retrospective study to review and compare clinical data including electronic medical records and laboratory tests from pregnant and nonpregnant patients admitted the Central Hospital of Wuhan, China from December 8, 2019 to April 1, 2020. Results A total of 72 women (30 pregnant and 42 nonpregnant) with COVID‐19 were included. No patients developed severe pneumonia during the study. Compared with the nonpregnant group, pregnant patients were admitted to hospital earlier (0.25 vs 11.00 days; P <0.001), presented milder symptoms, had a higher rate of asymptomatic infection (26.7% vs 0%), and shorter length of hospital stay (14.5 vs 17.0 days; P <0.01). Laboratory test results showed that levels of inflammation markers such as white blood cell count, neutrophil count and percentage, C‐reactive protein, procalcitonin, and D‐dimer were significantly higher

He lost two seats yesterday but he says the party are now on the right path. John McDonnell, first of all, I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to talk to Angela Rayner. Do you know whether she has been sacked or not? There seems to be some confusion this morning. JM: No, I haven’t spoken to Angie. Let’s be clear, I have no brief for Angie, I didn’t support her as Deputy Leader. I supported Richard Burgon, but when the Leader of the Party on Friday says he takes full responsibility for the election result in Hartlepool in particular, and then scapegoats Angie Rayner, I think many of us feel that was unfair, particularly as we all know actually Keir style of Leadership is that his office controls everything.

    REGISTER OF INTERESTS OF MEMBERS’ SECRETARIES AND RESEARCH ASSISTANTS (As at 11 July 2018) INTRODUCTION Purpose and Form of the Register In accordance with Resolutions made by the House of Commons on 17 December 1985 and 28 June 1993, holders of photo-identity passes as Members’ secretaries or research assistants are in essence required to register: ‘Any occupation or employment for which you receive over £380 from the same source in the course of a calendar year, if that occupation or employment is in any way advantaged by the privileged access to Parliament afforded by your pass. Any gift (eg jewellery) or benefit (eg hospitality, services) that you receive, if the gift or benefit in any way relates to or arises from your work in Parliament and its value exceeds £380 in the course of a calendar year.’ In Section 1 of the Register entries are listed alphabetically according to the staff member’s surname. Section 2 contains exactly the same information but entries are instead listed according to the sponsoring Member’s name. Administration and Inspection of the Register The Register is compiled and maintained by the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. Anyone whose details are entered on the Register is required to notify that office of any change in their registrable interests within 28 days of such a change arising. An updated edition of the Register is published approximately every 6 weeks when the House is sitting. Changes to the rules governing the Register are determined by the Committee on Standards in the House of Commons, although where such changes are substantial they are put by the Committee to the House for approval before being implemented.

    Constituency Report (October 2017) Labour Party Conference As you all will know, this September we had a fantastic Labour Party Conference in Brighton. Throughout the Conference I met people buzzing with fresh ideas. The optimism and determination of our MPs and party activists contrasted so starkly with that of the government, and showed that we in the Labour Party are a government in waiting. At Labour Women’s Conference I had the honour of giving the keynote speech, which allowed me to pay tribute to those women who have paved the way Visiting the CWU Conference stand before me. I spoke about the importance of social care, how we have a Cinderella service, and how local councils and healthcare services need to work together to provide a proper safety net. It was a fantastic opportunity to speak to Labour women from all over the country, celebrate how far we’ve come in the last year, and instil a sense of determination for the campaign’s ahead. On the Monday of Labour Party Conference I gave a speech in the International Session, in my capacity as Shadow Foreign Secretary. I set out Labour’s vision for an ethical foreign policy, the need for a revolution of Supporting Northern Irish women values in our outlook towards the world, and the re- establishment of a world based on rules and laws. In an era characterised by the resurgence of isolationist, nationalist leaders, the Labour Party must be as internationalist as ever. Introduction In May 2019, Theresa May announced her intention to resign as Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party. Theresa May officially resigned on Wednesday 24 July, with Boris Johnson becoming Prime Minister shortly afterwards. Boris Johnson made significant changes to the government, with less than half of Theresa May’s Cabinet remaining in post. Johnson did not maintain May’s approach of balancing those who voted leave and those who voted remain, instead promoting leading Brexit supporting figures to senior cabinet positions. A full list of Cabinet appointments is contained in Appendix 1. Matt Hancock remains in post as the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with Caroline Dinenage and Baroness Blackwood also continuing in his ministerial team. They are joined by Chris Skidmore, Jo Churchill and Nadine Dorries. The Liberal Democrats also announced a new leader, Jo Swinson, on 22 July 2019. Swinson, previously the party’s deputy leader who held ministerial roles in the business and education departments under the Coalition government, takes over from former Business Secretary, Sir Vince Cable, who led the party for two years.
