Aboriginal stakeholders and Aboriginal community also recognise that Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders who live in Western Sydney may have a contemporary interest in cultural aspects of Western Sydney. AEPR Airports (Environment Protection) Regulations 1997 Airports Act (the Act) Airports Act 1996 (Cth) Airport Lease An airport lease for the Airport granted under section 13 of the Airports Act Airport Plan Means the Airport Plan for the Airport Site as determined by the Infrastructure Minister under section 96B of the Airports Act in December 2016 as varied from time to time in accordance with the Airports Act. Airport Site The site for Sydney West Airport as defined in the Act. Ancillary An ‘ancillary development’ as set out in section 96L of the Act developments Archaeological A term used to describe an area or zone within which sites and/or potential archaeological sensitivity deposits are known or predicted to occur at a scale or frequency which necessitates careful management action in the future Bulk Earthworks The large-scale earthworks required to flatten the Stage 1 area in preparation for further construction works as described in section 6 of the Construction Plan. Condition A condition set out in Part 3 of the Airport Plan in accordance with section 96C of the Act Construction Impact The part or parts of the Airport Site or an Associated Site on which Main Construction Works Zone are planned to occur, as detailed in the Construction Plan approved in accordance with Airport Plan Condition 1. Also known as occurrence isolated artefacts if one artefact is present or artefact scatters when multiple artefacts associated together Sub-surface artefact One or more stone artefacts which occur within a specified deposit, and which have been occurrence revealed as a result of natural or human excavation. The boundaries of a recording may be strictly tied to known artefacts (such as test pits or erosion scarps) or consist of an interpretation base on topographic or disturbance variables. Subsurface artefact occurrences can also be described as archaeological deposits Sydney West Airport The Airport. Note: this is the name used in the Act. The Airport is also commonly known as WSI Western Sydney The Airport. Note: Under the Act the Airport is referred to as Sydney West Airport International (Nancy Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) WSA WSA Co Limited (ACN 618 989 272), the entity responsible for constructing and operating the Airport in accordance with the Airport Plan.
