Yahoo! Launches Yahoo! Player Integrated Streaming Media Player Provides an Easy Solution for Playing Music and Video SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- June 29, 2000 -- Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), a leading global Internet communications, commerce, and media company, today announced the official release of Yahoo!® Player (http://player.yahoo.com), a free streaming media player that provides Yahoo! Music consumers an easy solution for playing all their digital music, including streamed and downloaded MP3 files, as well as CDs. Yahoo! Player also provides video capabilities, access to radio stations, and an integrated Web browser, which delivers relevant music and entertainment content from across the Yahoo! network. Yahoo! also unveiled an enhanced version of Yahoo! Radio (http://radio.yahoo.com), which provides consumers access to hundreds of broadcast and Internet-only radio stations. "Yahoo! Player gives consumers on Yahoo! Entertainment, including Yahoo! Designed to support and complement industry-leading formats, Yahoo! Player consists of a control panel, playlist window, video viewer, radio station panel, and integrated Web browser, featuring the latest audio and video content. The Yahoo! Player delivers the following features: * Yahoo! Player's small file size makes downloading simple and efficient, and later versions of Yahoo! Yahoo! Radio, also a free service, now provides listeners the ability to select their favorite stations from more than 450 national, cable, local, and Internet-only radio stations hosted by Yahoo! Broadcast. Consumers can search and choose from a number of musical genres, as well as from news, sports, business and offerings, and have the ability to preset stations. Some stations accessible on Yahoo! Radio include KFOG (Album Adult Alternative; ), KPLX (Country; ), WFMT (Classical; ), WIOD (News; ), WDFN (Sports; ), WOR (Talk; New York). "Yahoo! Radio brings together radio stations from virtually every genre, providing high-quality audio and extensive station personalization," said Rightmire.
