NEW STATION WATCH CPs built, nearing final licensing: 1180 KCKQ NV Sparks – CP for new station (U2 4000/190), applies for license to cover and granted program test authority. 1380 KVSM CA Santa Maria – New station already on the air granted modification to pattern; hopefully this means it can get its permanent license to cover soon. Amendment to pending application: 1210 APP MN Pine River – Application for new station with U2 6000/250, amended to U2 5500/250. CPs expired and deleted: 1400 CP HI Paukaa – CP for new station (U1 2500/2500) expired and deleted. 1560 WIVS WI Village of Superior – CP for new station (U4 5000/4000) expired and deleted. BACK FROM THE GRAVE(YARD) 1450 WZGX AL Bessemer – Was deleted (see Issue 4) when the FCC’s letter to the station saying it had been silent for more than a year came back “Return to Sender” – now the station filed a change of address with the FCC (to c/o Pedro Zamora, 24486 Brentwood Dr., Brownstown MI 48183), so it’s back in the database. CONSTRUCTION PERMITS (CPS) FOR EXISTING STATIONS CPs on the air: 1150 WSNW SC Seneca – CP for U1 5000/58 is on the air. 1450 KQTE CA Helendale – CP for U1 1000/1000 is on the air. 1470 KVSL AZ Show Low – CP for U1 5000/87, ex‐1450 kHz; is on the air. CPs built, nearing final licensing: 1260 WGVM MS Greenville – Applies for license to cover CP with U1 1000/32. 1340 KIKO AZ Apache Junction – Applies for license to cover CP with U1 1000/930, moving from Miami AZ (about 40 miles west to eastern Phoenix suburbs). CP previously granted, challenge denied: 1000 WIOO PA Carlisle – FCC denied a challenge to WIOO’s longstanding unbuilt CP (for U4 5000/60 on 1010 kHz) from WOLB Baltimore MD, which had applied for a license to cover an incompatible upgrade to U1 1000/30 on the same frequency. So WIOO should be able to move forward with the CP now, if it chooses.
