We want an Executive Director who shares our values and has ambition, drive and determination to help us create that. In Wales, NHS policy is the responsibility of the Welsh Government and health policy has diverged significantly from that operating in England where a market-driven system, increasingly based on competition, has developed. In Wales the emphasis is on collaboration not competition. Unlike in England, the seven Health Boards in Wales Andrew Davies, Chairman deliver an integrated service and are responsible for both commissioning and planning all levels of citizen-centred healthcare services, as well as delivering them. In practice, this means that ABMU Health Board is delivering - and developing - services which range from primary and community health care, mental health, and responsibility for public health, through to highly specialised tertiary services. We are doing this in close partnership with our local authority, third sector

DRIVING IMPROVEMENT THROUGH INDEPENDENT AND OBJECTIVE REVIEW RThrevieeweof-Pyroeargress against Healthcare Sptarogndarrammeds for Wales 2009 - 2012 North Wales NHS Trust 1JAulpyri2l0200908 - 31 March 2009 Contents Page Executive Summary iii 1. Introduction and Background 1 2. Findings 3 3. Conclusion and Next Steps 25 Annex 1: North Wales NHS Trust Internal 27 Audit Report Annex 2: Summary of Healthcare Standards 41 for Wales Annex 3: Maturity Level Definitions 49 Annex 4: Areas for Improvement 51 i ii Executive Summary In May 2005 the Welsh Assembly Government published Healthcare Standards for Wales, setting out a common framework to support the NHS and partner organisations in providing effective, timely and quality services across all healthcare settings. The standards are focused on improving the experience of patients and service users and placing them at the centre of the way in which services are planned and delivered, providing a basis for continuous improvement. North Wales NHS Trust is a new organisation, formed from the former North East Wales NHS Trust and the Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust. This is the first year in which the Trust has self-assessed its performance against each of the 32 standards and submitted its assessment to Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) for testing and validation. The reports for the two former organisations for the years 2006-07 and 2007-08 can be accessed from our website. As noted at paragraph 3.3, the North Wales NHS Trust will be dissolved as part of the current reorganisation of the NHS in Wales, its functions being assumed by the new Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board.

NEATH PORT TALBOT COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL CABINET 16 January 2019 REPORT OF THE HEAD OF LEGAL SERVICES – MR C GRIFFITHS Matter for Decision Wards Affected: All Adoption of the JNC Framework in setting Coroner Pay and review of the financial contributions made to the Joint Coroner Service between Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and City and County of Swansea Purpose of the Report 1. To seek approval from Members to increase the financial contributions made to the Joint Coroner Service between Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and the City and County of Swansea as a result of the adoption of the JNC Framework for Coroners pay. Background 2. The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Alteration of Coroner areas) Order 2013 formally amalgamated The City and County of Swansea (“Swansea”) with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (“NPT”) for the purposes of a single Coroner area. The cost of the service is split using a formula between the two authorities based on place of death. City and County of Swansea is the “relevant authority” in law and is required to appoint and agree the remuneration of the Senior Coroner. Presently NPT contributes the sum of £248,030 in the financial year 2017/2018 and it was originally proposed the same amount would have been made in 2018/2019. 3. The budget for the amalgamated Coroners Services see NPT contribute the sum of 34.5% of the total budget costs. The percentage is based on the number of deaths registered in the areas of Swansea and NPT and is reviewed on an annual basis.
