David A. Fleetwood 443 Roxborough Avenue #2 Philadelphia, PA., 19128 [email protected] (856) 896-5589 Summary: An energetic, highly motivated, goal oriented broadcaster. Major strengths include initiative, team orientation and leadership. A quick study who works well under pressure. Effective at building rapport with clients and co-workers. A strong background in all facets of broadcasting, behind the scenes technical and on-air presentation. A dependable, thorough, tireless communicator. Professional Experience: As a Production Director/Afternoon Drive Air Talent at Cruisin’ 92.1, WVLT in Vineland, N.J., I was the sole administrator of all recorded spot announcements, PSA announcements, and on-air promos. Anything and everything that went on the air went through my department. I also selected, ordered, and wrote the lyrics for three different jingle packages from TM Century and Jam Productions. I voiced and produced the majority of all spot ads. As an Assistant Production Director/On-Air Talent at Oldies 98, WOGL-FM, a CBS owned and operated station in Philadelphia, PA., I prepared and produced on-air spot ads. I also produced all Philadelphia Phillies daily baseball promos, and produced and voiced commercial billboards for pre-game and post-game shows, and individual segments for 1210 AM, WPHT, and up and down the Phillies Radio Network. At WSTW, Wilmington, DE., I had the highest rated midday radio show in the Greater Wilmington area for seven consecutive years. That success stemmed primarily from the lunch-time all request format, and listener interaction. I also hosted a popular Saturday night all request oldies show. As a Segment Producer for a talk show at WDEL, Wilmington, DE., I scheduled guests and directed the course of the interviews.

800.275.2840 MORE NEWS» insideradio.com THE MOST TRUSTED NEWS IN RADIO THURSDAY, JULY 9, 2015 Radio Opportunity: Convert On Latest Good PR. After weathering a decade of slights in the consumer press, radio is notably basking in some positive media coverage. Recent stories in The New York Times and New York Observer suggest that the longtime gloom and doom narrative in the press may be changing to something sunnier—and, incidentally, more grounded in reality, and one the industry can, and should, pounce on. Top kudos came via a recent Observer story, but even the headline—“Radio—Yes, Terrestrial Radio—Is the No. 1 Medium In Terms of Reach”—points to the medium’s continued perception issue. Despite fending off competition from television, satellite radio, iPods and, most recently, streaming music services, the story notes, “Radio is far from dead.” Indeed, Nielsen’s latest cross-platform report of media usage showed 93% of U.S. adults listen to AM/FM radio weekly, compared to 87% watching television and 70% using smartphones. Now that Nielsen has validated radio as the no. 1 reach medium, the pressure is on execs to convert the news into revenues. “Anytime there is a positive message, it reinforces the strengths” of radio, says RAB president Erica Farber. And the latest Nielsen data gives the RAB another piece of positive research to use in talks with advertisers and agencies. Granted, like television, radio is up against a heavily fragmented market, preaching to advertisers who are increasingly attracted to digital media. To win ad dollars, “I would get down into the details,” says Mark McClennan, chairman elect of PRSA, a public relations industry group.

Test Booklet Subject: LA, Grade: 07 Grade 7 Reading 2009 Student name: Author: Delaware District: Delaware Released Tests Printed: Friday June 24, 2011 Grade 7 Reading 2009 LA:07 The Business of Radio by Denise Parks You are traveling in the car on the way to your friend’s house when your brother reaches towards the car radio controls. “No!” you cry. At the push of a button you are transported from the music you love to your brother’s talk radio show. Your mother reaches over and presses another button. Now it’s all about the weather. As frustrated as you may feel, it is actually pretty amazing that there are so many options at your finger tips. Did you ever stop to consider how radio stations work? Or how radio stations choose the songs that they play? Much planning and preparation goes into getting a radio station and its programming on the air. A LICENSE TO PLAY Did you know that as a United States citizen, you actually own part of all the radio stations that you hear? Here’s how it works. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) provides licenses that assign parts of the radio dial to companies that run each radio station. In return, the company agrees to provide programming that is interesting and important to its listeners. However, if listeners complain that a station is not living up to the agreement, then the radio station risks being removed from the air. For example, a station that promises to play only “clean” music but plays a song with profanity puts itself at risk at having its license revoked by the FCC.
