Biodiversity Data Journal 2: e1019. doi: 10.3897/BDJ.2.e1019 Abstract The flora of Tropical Asia is among the richest in the world, yet the actual diversity is estimated to be much higher than previously reported. Myanmar and Thailand are adjacent countries that together occupy more than the half the area of continental Tropical Asia. This geographic area is diverse ecologically, ranging from cool-temperate to tropical climates, and includes from coast, rainforests and high mountain elevations. An updated checklist of aquatic plants, which includes 78 species in 44 genera from 24 families, are presented based on floristic works. This number includes seven species, that have never been listed in the previous floras and checklists. The species (excluding non-indigenous taxa) were categorized by five geographic groups with the exception of to reflect the rich diversity of the countries' floras. Phytoestrogen emerged as a potential alternative of estrogen with minimum side effects. Green clover (Marsilea crenata Presl.) is a typical plant in East Java which suspected contains estrogen-like substances. The aim of this research was to report the phytochemical properties of M. crenata using GC-MS as a preliminary study. M. crenata leaves were dried and extracted with n-hexane, then separated using vacuum column chromatography to get four fractions, after that the n-hexane extract and four fractions were identified with GC-MS. The results of GC-MS analysis showed some compounds contained in M. crenata leaves like monoterpenoid, diterpenoid, fatty acid compounds, and other unknown compounds. The results obtained in this research indicated a promising potential of M. crenata as medicinal plants, especially as antiosteoporotic agent. The simpli®ed morphology of duckweeds has made it particularly dif®cult to reconcile their interspeci®c relation- ships. A comprehensive phylogenetic analysis of all currently recognized species of Lemnaceae has been carried out using more than 4,700 characters that include data from morphology and anatomy, ¯avonoids, allozymes, and DNA sequences from chloroplast genes (rbcL, matK) and introns (trnK, rpl16). All data are reasonably congruent (I(MF) , 6%) and contributed to strong nodal support in combined analyses. Our combined data yield a single, well-resolved, maximum parsimony tree with 30/36 nodes (83%) supported by bootstrap values that exceed 90%. Subfamily Wolf®oideae is a monophyletic clade with 100% bootstrap support; however, subfamily Lemnoideae represents a paraphyletic grade comprising Landoltia, Lemna,and Spirodela. Combined data analysis con®rms the monophyly of Landoltia, Lemna, Spirodela, Wolf®a,andWolf®ella. -

This was the first record for the species as part of the European flora. Recent work has shown that M. aegyptiaca still occurs at the site, and data are presented concerning its identification, habitat and distribution. Morphological characters of all known European species within the genus are compared. INTRODUCTION Water-clovers (Marsilea L.) are heterosporous ferns and the most species rich group within the Marsileaceae. The family additionally comprises the pillworts (Pilularia L.) and the monotypic genus Regnellidium Lindm. All three genera are aquatic to semi- aquatic rhizomatous plants with roots and leaves born at nodes and sori arranged in sporocarps (Kramer, 1990; Nagalingum et al., 2006). Recent phylogenetic studies have revealed that the Clover ferns (Marsileaceae) together with the Floating ferns (Salviniaceae; Salvinia Seg. and Azolla Lam.) represent a monophyletic group of heterosporous ferns within the fern clade, which evolved in the Mesozoic (Pryer, 1999; Smith et al., 2006; Nagalingum et al., 2006). Twentieth century treatments of the genus mainly focussing on morphology have been published for Africa (Launert, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1984), Australia (Jones, 1998), India (Gupta, 1962), and the Americas (Johnson, 1986). -

V. hat am 13. Juli in Rheinstetten die 20-jährige engagierte Tätigkeit des Oberderdinger Bürgermeisters Thomas Nowitzki inseiner Funktion als Schatzmeister sowie von Lothar Hillenbrand als Vereinsrevisor und das 10-jährige Engagement von Oberbürgermeister Sebastian Schrempp aus Rheinstetten als stellvertretender Vorsitzender im ehrenamtlich geführten Vorstand gewürdigt. In seiner Laudatio sprach der Vorsitzende der vhs, Klaus-Dieter Scholz aus Weingarten, den drei Jubilaren Dank und Anerkennung für ihre langjährige verdienstvolle Förderung der Weiterbildung aus. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt der Trägerversammlung lag auf dem Bericht des vhs-Leiters Heiko Müller und dem pädagogischen Fachbereichsleiter, Dr. Jean-Samuel Marx. Neben Informationen zu der bald vor dem Abschluss stehenden Qualitätszertifizierung und den Fortschritten in Sachen Digitalisierung erfuhr das Gremium insbesondere, dass der Corona-bedingte Finanzschaden im Jahr 2020 auf 135.000 € zu be- ziffern ist. Um diese schmerzliche Folge der Pandemie anteilig abfedern zu können, gaben die Verantwortli- chen der Trägerkommunen ein klares Bekenntnis zur gemeinnützigen vhs-Arbeit ab und beschlossen eine zunächst auf drei Jahre befristete Unterstützungs- leistung. Die vhs ist ein bedeutender Weiterbildungsträger in der Region. Sie wird getragen von 15 Kommunen im Landkreis Karlsruhe und der Stadt Bad Herrenalb im Landkreis Calw. In ihren 16 Außenstellen bietet sie wissbegierigen Menschen ein reichhaltiges Weiterbil- Lothar Hillenbrand, vhs-Vorsitzender Klaus-Dieter Scholz, dungsangebot für alle Altersstufen und Ansprüche zu Bürgermeister Thomas Nowitzki und Oberbürgermeister sozialverträglichen Preisen.
