I am beyond grateful for being presented such opportunities in motorsport throughout the master degree, the sport that I have been a huge fan of my whole life. I was given deeper and wider knowledge of many different fields in sports that bought up inspirational and interesting topics to think and learn from. I want to express my deep and sincere gratitude to my advisor, Professor Harald Klaus Dolles for giving me the opportunity to do my research on the sport that I love the most and supporting me with his invaluable guidelines throughout my research. I would like to thank him for sharing his knowledge and vision with me as I am honored to have had him as my supervisor. I want to express my appreciation towards my family who pushed me to choose and continue my education in a field of study that is interesting to me. I understand taking this step was important and huge especially that I moved to a country that speak a different language than me. Yet, they supported me and value my growth, nevertheless. A special thank you for my sister and nephew who were always there through video calls giving me the emotional support and the drive that I needed to complete this degree.

  • The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV Rises Successfully to a Fresh Challenge in the Streets of Berlin
MEDIA INFORMATION FIA Formula E Championship Berlin ePrix (Round 8) The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV rises successfully to a fresh challenge in the streets of Berlin The switch from the abrasive taxiways of the former Tempelhof Airport that Formula E visited in 2015 to the centre of Berlin for the eighth clash of the 2015/2016 calendar provided the championship with a new showcase. The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV rose to the occasion to demonstrate its extraordinary versatility once again in front of a bumper crowd. Formula E’s second Berlin ePrix (Saturday, May 21) – the first to be held in the city’s central Mitte district – took place in beautiful sunny conditions. The 11-turn track, which ran from the Alexanderplatz to Strausberger Platz, was one of the shortest of the calendar at a little less than two kilometres in length, but the two long, relatively wide straights ensured plenty of overtaking opportunities. But while the surface of the city centre’s roads was sufficient for everyday motoring, it featured several portions of repaired asphalt which provided varying levels of grip to keep the Formula E drivers on their toes. Said Serge Grisin, manager of Michelin’s Formula E programme: “The MICHELIN Sport EV has faced many different track configurations since the beginning of the first Formula E Championship but the repeated changes of grip it had to cope with here in Berlin was an entirely new scenario. In theory, the characteristics of the circuit were expected to be similar to those we came across in Paris last month, but the reality was somewhat different.

  • The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV Tyre Takes Malaysian Cauldron in Its Stride
MEDIA INFORMATION FIA FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP Putrajaya ePrix The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV tyre takes Malaysian cauldron in its stride Free practice and qualifying for the inaugural Putrajaya ePrix took place in bright, sunny weather before cloud cover moved in for the start of the race itself when the temperature reached 33°C, while Michelin’s technical staff reported a track temperature of 45°C. The track was still damp for the early free practice session which ran from 7:45am to 9am local time, and qualifying followed at 10am. The Formula E qualifying format is based on four 10-minute mini-sessions comprising groups of five cars each and the top of the timesheet changed hands several times. After Q2, the order was topped by Germany’s Daniel ABT (Audi Sport ABT), a mere 0.005s clear of Italian driver/team manager Jarno TRULLI. There were changes at the sharp end in Q3, however, when Nicolas PROST (e.Dams-Renault) came out on top after an exciting duel with Oriol SERVIA (Dragon Racing). The Frenchman held firm to win the day, 0.231s ahead of the Spaniard whose Belgian team-mate Jérôme D’AMBROSIO came third, a further 0.205s adrift. The result of Q4 had no influence on the final top placings. The grid order wasn’t identical to that on the timing screens, though, since Nicolas PROST was relegated to 11th spot because of the 10-place penalty he was awarded following his last-turn tangle with Nick HEIDFELD (Venturi) in the championship’s Chinese opener. Meanwhile, Jérôme D’AMBROSIO was dropped to the back of the grid, which meant that the front row was finally shared by Oriol SERVIA and Sam BIRD (Virgin Racing), with Daniel ABT third.
