“Now we’re calling it The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights,” Walt Disney Entertainment Show look for the Producer John Phelan told us. “Because for the first time ever, the lights will actually be choreographed to music. SECRET

John. “So every 15 to 20 minutes, all the lights on the entire length of the street will launch into this wonderful performance, perfectly synchronized to music by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. 2

“The lights will go where the music takes them, from an emotional or a rock feel, to a classical or a soft tone. Millions of lights on each building— the moldings, frames, windows, fire escapes and doorways—will fade up and down in time to the music, chase each other around corners, and ‘wash’ up and down the Millions of lights to see in various holiday settings whole street. Everyone will love it.”

John is quick to point out that The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is the result of over two dozen Disney Cast Members who make holiday dreams come true by stringing, wiring, and arranging lights as early as May. “It’s their passion, their exquisite care and SECRET attention to detail that really make them artists,” John The initials of mythical added. “We even challenge them every year to put in radio station “WJBO,” Hidden Mickeys!” that you hear as you enjoy the display, stand for the original display John is delighted that the displays are such a Guest creator, William Jennings Bryan Osborne. tradition. “Somehow, when we combine all the lights, the ‘snow’ and the atmosphere, Guests really get into the spirit of the season. Making a world of holiday dreams

Overseeing Holidays Around the World is a labor of love for Walt Disney Entertainment Producer Angie Howard.

“It’s mind-boggling,” she told us. “For Candlelight Processional alone, we have a 50-piece orchestra, a total of 30,000 choir singers from churches, groups, and our own Disney Cast—and celebrity narrators telling the story of the Nativity.”

The greatest story ever told...three times nightly Disney Cast Members love being part of this moving, emotional show as much as the star narrators, who enjoy it so much, they often ask to come back for return engagements. “On the night of the show—when the celebrity comes to meet the choir—it creates a genuine team feeling,” Angie said. Returning narrators this year include Gary Sinese and Stephen Curtis Chapman. First-time narrators include Cuba Gooding, Jr. and John O’Hurley. (Visit disneyworld.com for narrator schedules.)

A special addition to a dazzling spectacle When Sy Miller and Jill Jackson first introducedLet There Be Peace On Earth at a 1955 multicultural, mountaintop retreat for teens, they couldn’t have dreamed that their song would someday soar into the Epcot® heavens along with fireworks, lasers, and fountains over World Showcase Lagoon.

It happens during Holidays Around the World, when the international hit is added to IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth for a soul-stirring finale.

The celebrations keep coming The World Showcase nations also celebrate with up to 77 storytelling presentations a day, plus there’s a nightly tree lighting with Mickey and friends. “It’s all very remarkable,” Angie said. “Sometimes I wonder how we can do all this, but it all turns out so beautifully. After all these years, it still touches me.” 4
