Arena Joondalup commenced operation in March 1994 with the purpose of providing a regional sport, leisure and entertainment facility to service the needs of the community, state and national sporting events. WA Rugby Centre was officially opened on July 14 2011. The facility, which will house Rugby WA and the Western Force, is the final stage of the three facility sports development in the Mount Claremont sporting precinct which includes the WA Athletics Stadium, WA Basketball Centre and now the WA Rugby Centre. WA Athletics Stadium accommodates track and field disciplines including discuss, pole vault and steeplechase, as well as soccer and rugby.
