The great competition at stake we are in for a tense unusual situation that arose in the week just gone and potentially season changing afternoon - was that we were told by the league the award don’t miss it and tell all your friends! was ours only then a few hours later to be told that our visitors today had a fractionally better Tuesday’s defeat in the Southern League Cup was CORBY MOORE percentage points per game so that they were not a major disappointment as it is a competition now going to be the award’s recipients!! That of that as it wears on can be a drain on finances course only goes to show what a crunch clash we and playing resources. A local derby as we had have in prospect today - all set up for a cracking with Wimborne, however, gave us a chance to early season six pointer! give certain players much need pitch time and we saw some excellent displays from a clutch Hopefully our squad today will have a more solid of Paul Turner’s talented reserve squad which look about it as of late we have suffered badly included a stunning goal from Jason Dyer and from absences of key players due to injury and an excellent display of goalkeeping from young suspension. We know that we will have Jamie Harry Phillips. Whisken and Josh Carmichael back from their respective bans and we have Flavio Tavares back The dreadful legacy from the night of course was from injury with hopefully Adam Grange to follow the controversial straight red for Sam Jackson in shortly. The main objective of Poole Town Football Supporters’ Club (PTFSC) is to help and support the Directors of the Football Club in their endeavours to provide and maintain first-class football in Poole. Throughout the year we raise money to fund projects and last season donated thousands of pounds towards the massive effort required for ground grading and improving facilities. This income came from various sources such as subscriptions, 100 Club, 50:50 ticket sales, merchandise and social events. Last season we purchased the following items to help the players to recover from injuries:

• A portable recovery unit which is used after a game or training; the machine pumps all the lactic acid out of the body and helps the body to recover more quickly (essential when they have been playing two games per week!) • three massagers which can be used for specific injury problems and loaned out to players as necessary The equipment has been much appreciated by the players and the physio, Tom Curtis-Bennett.

It is now 1 year since the launch of the club’s Kids Initiative (KI) and it has been a very busy one at that. For those new to the club the KI is a long-term project by the club to give access for kids, especially those facing financial or emotional hardship, the chance to watch or participate in ‘the beautiful game’. From a standing start, and with a very small budget, I think we have seen the start of something that will cement our club as a vital and integral part of the local community. In 2020 Poole Town FC will celebrate its 130th birthday! During the last 12 months we have held 3 holiday soccer schools over 6 weeks in which we offered free places to children from local charities including Dorset Children’s Foundation, BCHA, MOSAIC, New Forest Young Carers and the Christchurch Youth Centre. So far 94 places have been taken by these kids in these fun packed footie days. My thanks go to Danny & Sam Herrington for their help in making this happen. In addition at the end of the 2017/18 season we offered the first of our ‘Free Family Ticket’ days to local school children. That has been followed by 2 further identical days during the season just gone. From a handful of people using the free vouchers at the first game we had over 250 people take advantage for the last one with over 20 schools taking part in the scheme during the season. A blossoming connection with local schools has enabled us to create & distribute our Kids & Community Newsletter which has now seen 3 editions. These newsletters can be viewed on our dedicated community website: ptfckids.co.uk which publicises and reports on all our news and events to do with our work within the community and with our youth teams (of which there are over 30). The biggest breakthrough though for me is that the KI is engaging with local businesses who buy into what we are trying to do in improving the lives of local children.
