Uefa Champions League UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - 2014/15 SEASON MATCH PRESS KITS Estádio do Dragão - Porto Wednesday 15 April 2015 20.45CET (19.45 local time) FC Porto Quarter-finals, First leg FC Bayern München Last updated 29/05/2015 02:56CET UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OFFICIAL SPONSORS Match background 2 Legend 5 1 FC Porto - FC Bayern München Wednesday 15 April 2015 - 20.45CET (19.45 local time) Match press kit Estádio do Dragão, Porto Match background FC Porto will hope to recreate one of their club's greatest nights when they host FC Bayern München in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final. • Bayern, unbeaten on Portuguese soil, will start as favourites but Porto have upset the German side once before with a shock victory in the 1987 European Champion Clubs' Cup final. • Porto reached their first UEFA Champions League quarter-final in six years thanks to a 5-1 aggregate victory over FC Basel 1893, but the scale of Bayern's round of 16 victory over FC Shakhtar Donetsk was even more emphatic – 7- 0 on aggregate, all the goals coming in Munich. Previous meetings • This is the clubs' third European Cup quarter-final meeting – and Bayern prevailed on the two previous occasions. • In 1999/2000, the sides drew the first leg 1-1 in Portugal on 4 April 2000 and the Munich return looked set to go into extra time after Mário Jardel's 90th-minute goal for Porto made it 1-1. However, there was still time for Thomas Linke to secure a 3-2 aggregate triumph for Ottmar Hitzfeld's team. • In their 1990/91 quarter-final, Porto drew the first leg 1-1 in Munich yet Bayern won the return in Porto 2-0 thanks to goals from Christian Ziege (18) and Manfred Bender (71). • Porto's only victory over Bayern came in Vienna in the clubs' most significant meeting of all – the 1987 European Cup final. Trailing to a Ludwig Kögl goal (25), Artur Jorge's side turned the final on its head with late efforts from Rabah Madjer (77) and Juary (80). • The lineups for that final on 27 May 1987 were: Porto: Młynarczyk, João Pinto, Celso, Eduardo Luís, Inácio (António Frasco 66), Quim (Juary 46), Jaime Magalhães, Sousa, André, Madjer, Futre. Bayern: Pfaff, Winklhofer, Nachtweih, Eder, Pflüger, Flick (Lunde 82), Matthäus, Brehme, Hoeness, Rummenigge, Kögl. Match background Porto • Porto are seeking a first semi-final appearance since 2003/04 when they lifted the trophy under José Mourinho. • The Portuguese club's last quarter-final appearance was in 2008/09 when they lost to Manchester United FC. Their only two victories in six previous quarter-final appearances came in the seasons when they were crowned European champions. • Julen Lopetegui's men have won four and drawn one of five home games in this season's competition, play-offs included. • Porto's home record against German opponents is W7 D3 L3. • The two-time champions' record in two-legged ties against Bundesliga sides is P10 W2 L8. • Last season Porto earned their first victory against a German side over two legs in 37 years when they defeated Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Europa League round of 32, prevailing on away goals. Bayern • Five-time winners Bayern are looking for a fourth successive semi-final appearance. • Bayern's quarter-final record is W16 L9. • Josep Guardiola's men have won six of their last ten away fixtures in the UEFA Champions League – including their 7-1 triumph at AS Roma in this season's group stage. • Bayern's record in Portugal is W5 D6 L0 – that 1987 final defeat is their only loss against Portuguese opponents in 22 fixtures overall. They are also undefeated in eight ties against Portuguese opposition in two-legged knockout ties. • Bayern's most recent visit to Lisbon brought a 5-0 victory at Sporting Clube de Portugal in the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League round of 16. Franck Ribéry scored two of their goals, while Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Müller were among the scorers in Bayern's 7-1 second-leg triumph. Coach and player links • Lopetegui and Guardiola were team-mates at FC Barcelona from 1994–97 and were also in Spain's 1994 FIFA World Cup finals squad. • The two coaches met each other five times as players in Spanish league matches, winning one game apiece. At CD 2 FC Porto - FC Bayern München Wednesday 15 April 2015 - 20.45CET (19.45 local time) Match press kit Estádio do Dragão, Porto Logroñés (1991–94), Lopetegui faced Guardiola's Barcelona three times, all at home, drawing twice and losing once. With Rayo Vallecano de Madrid (1997–2002), meanwhile, Lopetegui posted a win (a) and a draw (h) against Guardiola. • Guardiola has a 100% winning record against Porto as player and coach. He helped Barcelona beat Porto 3-0 in the single-match 1993/94 UEFA Champions League semi-final and featured in home (4-2) and away (2-0) victories in the 1999/00 second group stage. As Blaugrana coach, he oversaw a 2-0 success in the 2011 UEFA Super Cup, when Helton was in the Porto side. • Cristian Tello made his Barcelona breakthrough under Guardiola in 2011/12, when he was a team-mate of Thiago Alcántara. He faced Xabi Alonso in four of the five Clásico fixtures against Real Madrid CF in which he played. • Tello and Thiago were in the Spain side that Lopetegui coached to the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, beating Sebastian Rode's Germany along the way. The previous year Lopetegui had led a Spain team including Juan Bernat and Óliver Torres to victory in the UEFA European Under-19 Championship. • Casemiro was a team-mate of Alonso at Madrid (2012–14). • Jackson Martínez and Ricardo Quaresma both scored past Pepe Reina when Porto beat the Spanish goalkeeper's SSC Napoli side in last season's UEFA Europa League round of 16. • In the 2007/08 round of 16, Manuel Neuer saved two spot-kicks at the Estádio do Dragão to earn FC Schalke 04 a shoot-out victory over Porto. Rafinha was also in the Schalke team, converting a penalty past Helton. Quaresma is Porto's other survivor of that night. • Arjen Robben scored past Helton to help Chelsea FC beat Porto 2-1 in the second leg of their 2006/07 UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie. Quaresma hit Porto's goal in a defeat that left them eliminated 3-2 on aggregate. • Bruno Martins Indi was, along with Robben, in the Netherlands side that overwhelmed Alonso's Spain 5-1 at the 2014 World Cup. • Robben won the added-time penalty with which the Netherlands beat a Mexico side featuring Diego Reyes and Hector Herrera in the last 16 of last summer's tournament. • Yacine Brahimi was in the Algeria team beaten 2-1 at the same stage by a Germany side including Neuer, Jérôme Boateng, Philipp Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Götze and Thomas Müller. Müller had hit a hat-trick as Germany beat Portugal 4-0 in the group stage. Match facts Porto • Alex Sandro, Danilo, Maicon and Torres are all a booking away from a suspension; Iván Marcano serves a one- game ban. • Porto lost 2-1 at CS Marítimo in the Portuguese League Cup semi-finals on 2 April. Two of the Dragons' four defeats this term have been inflicted by the Madeira side. • Tello tore a muscle in his right thigh during the final training session before Porto's 5-0 defeat of Estoril Praia on 6 April. The forward is likely to be out until the end of the month. • Quaresma scored once and provided two assists against Estoril, and opened the scoring from the penalty spot as Porto won 3-1 at Rio Ave FC on Saturday. Danilo and Hernâni scored the Dragons' other goals. • Jackson has not played since suffering a groin injury against SC Braga on 6 March. • Porto announced on 31 March that Danilo will join Madrid in the summer for €31.5m on a six-year deal. Bayern • Alonso is available again after serving a one-match ban; Boateng is a booking away from a suspension. • Bayern suffered only their second Bundesliga defeat of the season when they lost 2-0 at home to VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach on 22 March. • Robert Lewandowski scored against his former club as Bayern prevailed 1-0 at Borussia Dortmund on 4 April. • That victory was Bayern's 50th in the league, from 61 matches, under Guardiola – the shortest time any coach has taken to reach a half-century of Bundesliga wins. • Lewandowski got two more in Saturday's 3-0 success against Eintracht Frankfurt; he has scored nine goals in his last eight Bundesliga games. • On 8 April, Bayern booked their place in the German Cup semi-finals for a record sixth successive season, prevailing 5-3 on penalties at Bayer 04 Leverkusen after a goalless draw. The holders will play Dortmund at home in the last four 3 FC Porto - FC Bayern München Wednesday 15 April 2015 - 20.45CET (19.45 local time) Match press kit Estádio do Dragão, Porto on 28 April. • David Alaba missed a penalty and then scored in Austria's 5-0 UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying triumph over Liechtenstein on 27 March. Four days later he injured his left knee in a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina and is expected to be out for seven weeks. • Robben (out since 22 March, abdominal muscle) and Ribéry (11 March, ankle) are still sidelined. • Schweinsteiger (ankle) limped off in Dortmund, while Medhi Benatia was substituted versus Leverkusen with a thigh problem.

3 Title: Uniformity or diversity – a study on the strategies and organizational forms in World Cup Soccer 2002.

Many ways have been studied from the viewpoints of low- level audio/visual processing (e.g. detection of excited commentator speech), event detection (e.g. goal detection), etc. However, the subjectivity of highlights is an unavoid- able bottleneck. The replay scene is an effective clue for highlights in broad- cast sports video due to the incorpora- tion of video production knowledge. Most related work deals with the replay detection and/or a simple composition of all detected replays to generate highlights. Different from previous work, our work considers different flavors of dif- ferent people in terms of highlight content or type through replay scenes classification. The main contributions include: 1) proposing a multi-modal (visual+textual) approach for refined replay classification; 2) employing the sources of Figure 1: Sample images from different replay catego- Broadcast Web Text (BWT) to facilitate replay content ries.( 1st row: goal, 2nd row: shoot, 3rd row: foul, 4th row: analysis. • 001-016 Introduction
Introduction FC Barcelona celebrate victory at the Stade de France. The 2006 UEFA Champions League victors have no problems with the rulings on ‘locally-trained’ players introduced for the 2006/07 season. A year ago, we were celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first-ever final in the old ‘European Cup’ and using that as a good excuse for some nostalgic reading of the history books. This season, the emphasis is well and truly on the future - the future of the game and the future of the people who play it. I’m referring to the new chapter in the regulations of this competition, where four places in each squad are earmarked for ‘locally-trained players’. You might not think that this is a major change. But, as time goes by, more places will be reserved for them and the 2006/07 campaign marks the first step in what I think is a very right direction. It was a subject we had discussed in great depth within our Executive Committee, within all sectors of the game and with people in political circles. And it is a decision which has my wholehearted support. Fortunately, I am by no means the only one who believes that talent needs to be developed and not just bought.
