ARMA

he CRPF Academy started in 2005 with the mandate to Timpart basic training to the Directly Appointed Gazetted Officers of CRPF. With the growing complexity of internal security scenario, an officer is to be trained with high standards of physical mental and professional skills like Firing skills. As part of this endeavour a project entitled ARMA ‘'kL= 'kfä’ was designed. ARMA encompasses a cross cut view of all components of weapons, ammunitions, munitions, grenades, bombs and their mechanism through condemned/used items (recycled phenomenon) and the same was inaugurated at CRPF Academy on 09th September’ 2019. The project proved to be a training multiplier in terms of conceptual understanding of the key subject of weapons/arms/ ammunitions. ARMA was constructed on the basis of utilising condemned/ used items. All weaponries showcased are mostly condemned. Ammunitions, Munitions, Grenades and Bombs employed for the purpose of mechanism and cross cut views are either Unexploded Ordinances (UXOs) or remnants of exploded ones, fetched from the field and then assembled for display.

eing nostalgic of what I had experienced Within few days we forget everything and start previous year. I remembered a short episode leading a normal life as if nothing had happened. Bwhich I am sharing here. It was in the month Vehicle accidents are a regular eventuality in this of August 2017, my Coy was deployed in Abi Gujar state, which claims many lives every month. But Lane near Lal Chowk and I was supervising my when ever any of us get killed by vehicle of Security Coy deployment as usual. There was a complete Forces we cry. shutdown call from Hurriyat and the Government had also imposed curfew to thwart untoward incident. Amid both calls the entire Civilian population were “HUM KYA CHAHTE ……… AZADI” confined indoors. After checking my deployed (“What do we want……..…..Freedom”) Sections, I stood under a Chinar Tree where two media personnel were already present. They were busy in a debate on the topic “Future of Kashmir” oblivious of my presence. One photo journalist who appeared to be a jocund personality expressed his After due course of time we again forget our view that there is no solution of the “K” issue. It is agony, shed away our pain and start leading a normal continuing since last 70 years and on every issue life. At the influx of tourist during peak season we we cry. experience a mixed feeling of exoticism and anguish and hence we start pelting stone on Security Forces perplexed. In this situation we can’t postpone our “HUM KYA CHAHTE ……… AZADI” agitation and hence we chant our favorite slogan. (“What do we want……..…..Freedom”)

Our “Kashmir” is called the land of Saints. We “HUM KYA CHAHTE ……… AZADI” always forgive our enemy and have faith in peace. (“What do we want……..…..Freedom”) So all this incidents recur all throughout the year.

“HUM KYA CHAHTE ……… AZADI” (“What do we want……..…..Freedom”) We follow Hurriyat calendar religiously but whenever we need to go outside and have to face brutality of the so called peace keepers.
