Esordisce in gara alla Mille Miglia del 1948, conquistando il secondo, terzo, e quarto posto nella classifica generale. La vettura qui presente è un esemplare con un palmarès particolarmente importante, che include la partecipazione alla Mille Miglia del 1949, condotta dal pilota Luigi Fagioli (attraversando il territorio di Santa Marinella) e classificatasi all'undicesimo posto assoluto.     COMUNICATO STAMPA “PICCOLI BOLIDI… GRANDI PASSIONI” I costruttori artigianali di vetture da competizione Piacenza, 26 gennaio 2013, Piazza Cavalli …Anni cinquanta …..anni di corsa…. Gli italiani escono da una guerra che ha messo in ginocchio il tessuto economico ed umano del paese. In campo automobilistico, come in tutti gli altri, la voglia di ricominciare è tanta nonostante le ristrettezze e la povertà di mezzi. Forse sarà per questi motivi che in quel periodo nascono quelle vetture che sono diventate il simbolo della passione e del genio italiano nell’automobilismo sportivo, le piccole “Sport”. Auto da corsa artigianali, di cilindrata tra 700 e 1100 cc che, dalla fine degli anni quaranta fino agli inizi degli anni sessanta, furono il nerbo delle corse automobilistiche italiane e non solo. Per ragioni strettamente economiche utilizzavano in varia misura, e a seconda dell’inventiva del costruttore, elementi di vetture stradali. Tante le Fiat Topolino e 1100 “cannibalizzate”, da cui il genio e la conoscenza meccanica dei vari “inventori” riusciva a tirar fuori prestazioni spesso entusiasmanti. La carrozzerie erano di alluminio battuto a mano mentre, appunto, il motore e il telaio erano perlopiù realizzati autonomamente o sottoponendo a pesanti modifiche parti di vetture stradali. Corsero in tutte le gare che a quel tempo si organizzavano in Italia, dai più improbabili circuiti cittadini alle mitiche Mille Miglia, Targa Florio per ben figurare perfino alla 24 ore di Le Mans, spopolando nelle loro classi di appartenenza. Nell’arco di breve tempo i risultati sportivi dettero ragione ai “Geniacci” del motore che le avevano create e queste vetture diventarono un fenomeno non solo sportivo ma anche economico, sviluppando realtà artigianali conosciute in tutto il mondo e creando lavoro per centinaia di maestranze.
