Porsche’s inaugural Golf Cup Australia Challenge in 2014 was a resounding success and we now know that a large proportion of our customers are not only passionate about their , but also about their golf. Last year the 2015 Porsche Golf Cup Australia Challenge was played, once again, at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Victoria. Porsche Australia was inundated with interest and applications so due to over-subscription, final places were chosen by ballot. The five winning players over each of the handicapped groups in the tournament have been invited to represent Team Australia at the Porsche Golf Cup World Final in 2016 in Europe with all costs being defrayed by PCA. We are thrilled that once again a member of Porsche Centre Willoughby’s clientele was the winner and are delighted that our customer Mike Booth will be representing Australia and Porsche Centre Willoughby in the final in Majorca, Spain in 2016.

We wish all the very best of luck to Mike for the finals!

Last but certainly not least was the Block 1 Shiraz, which held the highest rated score by Huon Hooke for the 2011 Vintage of Australian Shiraz. Keith sites the wine as his ‘opus magnum’ from 2011 and said he himself would cellar and cherish the Shiraz for decades. The second group followed Keith Tulloch as he offered a tour of his grounds, detailing the history of the vineyard lovingly referred to as the “Field of Mars”. Keith named the vineyard after a field on the outskirts of ancient Rome on the banks of the Tiber River. It was the training ground for the Roman Legions and with successful Roman conquests became the parade ground for the celebrations of victory. The groups then changed places, returning afterwards to the Barrel Room for a banquet lunch catered by Muse Kitchen.
