JJUULLYY 22001100 NOTICE OF RACE NOTICE OF RACE 1 The Organizing Authority is the Slovak Sailing Union in cooperation with NVA Slovak Republic and following clubs: YC LIMAR Liptovský Mikuláš, TJ FATRAN Liptovský Mikuláš, JK Liptovská Mara. 1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 No national authority prescriptions will apply. 1.3 International Vaurien Class Rules and Vaurien World Championship Rules will apply. 1.4 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. 2 ADVERTISING 2.1 Boats shall display stickers with the event sponsor advertising provided by the Organizing Authority from 19.7. to 24.7.2010 on both sides of bow. 3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the VAURIEN class. 3.2 Eligible boats may enter by 20.6.2010 • electronically on event website http:\\www.sailing.sk\vwc2010, or • by completing the application form in attachment 1 and sending it, together with the required fee, to following address: Marian Babjak Jilemnického 28 031 01 Liptovský Mikuláš Slovensko Tel. : +421915829405 e-mail : [email protected] k web site : www.sailing.sk\vwc201 0 3.3 Late entries may be accepted under the discretion of the Organizing Committee 3.4 The following restrictions on the number of boats apply: • The Vaurien World Championship shall be open to ten (10) crews from each country. • The host country is entitled to enter fourteen (14) crews to the VWC. • The previous year's World Champions, the continental champions and the winners of the "Europa Cup" will be automatically admitted. • The number of feminine crews is not restricted. • Additional participants may be granted by IVCA's President. • Competitors born after 1st January 1991 can race in the junior category. • The method of selection of their representatives is left to the National Vaurien Associations 1 3.5 Each competitor must (at the Race Office before 18:00 on 18 July 2010): • sign personally the Registration Form • provide registration or license according to competitor’s National Authority 4 FEES 4.1 Required fees are as follows: • 110 EUR paid by bank transfer not later then 20.6.2010 • 150 EUR paid by bank transfer or in VWC 2010 race office after 20.6.2010 4.2 Bank transfer shall be to bank account: BANK : Tatra banka Hodžovo nám. 3 P.O.BOX 42 850 05 Bratislava 55 IBAN: SK33 1100 0000 0026 2912 8844 SWIFT : TATR SK BX MESSAGE: Sail country code and number 5 FORMAT OF RACING 5.1 If there is more then 80 boats registered for VWC 2010 following rules may apply after consultation with CIV: 5.1.1 Divisions: The fleet may be divided into four divisions for the whole duration of the championship. Attachment 4 shows the starting schedule. 5.1.2 Identification of divisions: All boats shall display a coloured ribbon (corresponding to the colour of each division flag) permanently fixed and free to fly from the top of the mast. These ribbons will be provided by the Organizing Authority 5.1.3 Allocation to divisions: (i) First, the boats will be sorted into alphabetical order of the national letters and numerical order of the sail numbers. (ii) Then, the seeding of the boats in the four divisions will be done as follows: the first boat of the sorted list will be allocated a number between 1 and 4 (to be drawn by lot) and the rest of the boats will be allocated numbers in a sequential order, each number representing each division. (For example if the number for the first boat is 2, the first 7 boats will be allocated numbers 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4). The seeding will be done as soon as possible after the completion of the registration. 6 SCHEDULE 6.1 Registration: Day 17.7. 2010 Day 18.7. 2010 From 15:00 To 22:00 From 09:00 To 18:00 2 6.2 Measurement and Inspection: Day 17.7. 2010 Day 18.7. 2010 From 15:00 To 20:00 From 09:00 To 18:00 6.3 Dates of racing: 19.7.2010 – 24.7.2010 6.4 Number of races: 12 Races are planned, with maximum 3 races per day. 6.5 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the o practice race 18.7. 2010 -15:00 o first race 19.7.2010. 11:00 o next day races 11:00 7 MEASUREMENTS 7.1 Each boat shall provide a valid measurement certificate. 7.2 Each crew is allowed to measure and to stamp the following items as maximum: 1 hull – 1 centerboard – 1 rudder – 1 mast – 1 boom – 1 spinnaker boom, 1 main sail – 1 head sail – 1 spinnaker 7.3 During the competition it is prohibited to sail without stamped equipment listed above. 7.4 All boats may be re-measured at any time at the discretion of the International Jury or the Race Committee. 8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 8.1 The sailing instructions will be available before 31.3.2010 on the International Vaurien Class Association and Championship web sites. 9 VENUE 9.1 Attachment 3 shows the location of the regatta and racing areas. 10 PENALTY SYSTEM 10.1 Decisions of the international jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5 of RRS. 10.2 RRS 42 will be judged on the water, according appendix P of RSS. 11 SCORING 11.1 The Low Point System of Appendix A of RSS will apply. 11.2 4 races are required to be completed to constitute a series. 3 11.3 When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. 11.4 When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 11.5 When 10 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores. 11.6 World Championship, Junior World Championship and Vaurien Feminine Championship will be sailed together. Separate scoring sheet will be made for Junior and Female participants. (First arrived Junior (Feminine) participants out of the overall race result with 1 point.) 12 CHARTER BOAT 12.1 Charter boats will be available on the VWC 2010 site. Requests for charter boat shall be sent to the organizing authority by 15.May 2010. 13 SUPPORT BOATS 13.1 Support boats shall be marked with national letters. 14 BERTHING 14.1 Boats shall be kept in their assigned places in the boat park. The place assigned for each country will be marked by national letters. 15 RADIO COMMUNICATION 15.1 Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. 16 PRIZES 16.1 Prizes will be awarded in three categories: • o Vaurien World Championship - first three boats in overall classification • o Junior Vaurien World Championship - first three junior boats in junior classification • o Vaurien Feminine Championship - first three female boats in female classification 16.2 If, for any reason, the number of participants is less than fifteen (15), or if the number of participating countries is less than four (4), the race shall not be called "World Championship" and the title of Vaurien World Champion shall not awarded. 16.3 If, for any reason, the number of junior participants is less than twelve (12), or if the number of participating countries is less than four (4), the race shall not be called "Junior World Championship" and the title of Junior Vaurien World Champion shell not awarded. 4 16.4 If, for any reason, the number of female participants is less than eight (8), or if the number of participating countries is less than three (3), the race shall not be called "Vaurien Feminine Championship" and the title of Vaurien Feminine Champion shell not awarded. 17 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 17.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4 of RRS, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. 18 INSURANCE 18.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1 000 000 € per event or the equivalent. 19 FURTHER INFORMATION 19.1 It is possible to agree accommodation individually around Liptovska Mara. Competitors should note that Northampton Sailing Club implements the RYA Racing Charter and that you will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book. Conditions of Entry The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/competitor racing the boat, who must ensure that the boat and crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise during the race.     Sailing Instructions Open Dutch Championships 2014 International 470 Class 16 and 17 of august 2014 Venue, WV Scharendijke, Grevelingenmeer, near Scharendijke (NL) Organizing Authority: The races will be organised by Royal Yacht Club België, Koninklijke Watersport Vereniging De Kaag, Watersport Vereniging Scharendijke in conjunction with the involved Dutch 470 Class Organization. [DP] denotes a rule for which the penalty is at the discretion of the International Jury. [NP] denotes that a breach of this rule will not be grounds for a protest by a boat. 1. RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013-2016. The prescriptions of the Dutch National Authority will apply, together with the Class Rules of the International 470 Class. The Sailing Instructions may change some rules. 1.2 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. 1.3 Every person on board who has its domicile in the Netherlands shall have the required licenses. The licences will be checked before or upon registration. 1.4 Change of crew during the regatta is subject to approval by the race committee. Approval will not be given when the required licence cannot be shown. 1.5 The event is an integral part of the annual Benelux Championships.
