Notice of Race Test Event Notice of Race 1 / 7 The Vaurien Test Event – International Meeting 2021 is the practice event for the Vaurien World Championship 2022. It will be held in Vigo (Spain) from July 23rd to 29th, 2021. It will consist on a 3- day international training clinic, followed by one rest day and 3 days of racing. The event will be organized by the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, with the support of the AsVaurien Spain, under the auspices of: - The Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV) - The Royal Galician Sailing Federation (RFGV) - The International Vaurien Class Association The notation ‘[DP]’ in a rule in the NoR means that the penalty for a breach of that rule may be, at the discretion of the protest committee, less than disqualification. 1. RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024. 1.2 Vaurien Class Rules will apply in their lasts versions registered in the CIV official website https://vaurien.org/. 1.3 If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence. 1.4 Appendix P of the Racing Rules of Sailing 2021 – 2024 will apply. 2. ADVERTISING Boats may be required to display bow numbers and/or advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority, according to WS Appendix 20. If this rule is broken, World Sailing Regulation 20.9.2 applies. [DP] 3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Vaurien Class. 3.2 Entry deadline: June 30th 2021 3.3 Online pre-entry may be requested on the official event website: https://www.vaurienworlds2022.com/test-event-2021 3.4 Entries shall be signed personally by the participants on July 27th at 12:00 at the latest. 3.5 It may be possible to perform a late entry (after the July 27th deadline) only with the Organizing Committee approval. The entry fee will be charged an extra 30€. 3.6 A completed entry form requires a payment of the entry fee. 3.7 Attaching the documents below is a necessary requisite in order to complete the registration process. • The check-in report form duly signed* • The disclaimer form duly signed* • A valid Passport or ID-card for each person on board reporting one picture, name, surname, gender and date of birth • A valid measurement certificate • A valid third party liability insurance (minimum 300.500 €) • The parent consent form for under 18 years old participants * • Foreign crews declaration must comply with their own National Sailing Authority regulations * * download pdf from the official website after the pre-registration 2 / 7 4. FEES 4.1 Entry fee: • 70€ per boat for the Test Event • 60€ per boat for the International Training Clinic • 80€ For both, Clinic + Test Event 4.2 Payment will be made through the registration platform, choosing the amount depending on whether you go to Clinic + Test Event or only to one of these. 4.2 Entry fees are not refundable. 5. MEASUREMENT AND INSPECTION 6.1 Measurement checks may be carried out at any time during the event. 6.2 The following identification signals will be checked during inspection: • Junior: dark color circle of 250 mm diameter on the top part of the mainsail and on both sides of the sail ("back to back"). • Female: red rhombus of 250 x 400 mm diagonals on the top part of the mainsail and on both sides of the sail ("back to back"). 3 / 7 7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 7.1 Sailing Instructions will be available on the official website and will be posted on the official club board on July 25th at 20:00h. 8. THE COURSES 9.1 Single fleet format will be raced. 9.2 Courses will be a triangle. See diagram attached (Appendix 1). Race Course Areas will be the same as the Vaurien World Championship 2022 Race Course Areas. See diagram attached (Appendix 2). 10. PENALTY SYSTEM 10.1 RRS 42 (propulsion) could be judged on the water. 10.2 Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced with the OneTurn Penalty. 11. SCORING 11.1 According to RRS WS appendix A Low point scoring system will be applied. 11.2 Discards: • When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. • When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 12. SUPPORT BOATS 12.1 The entry form for support boats must be filled in and signed by the support boat responsible and have to be approved by the Organizing Authority. 12.2 Entry deadline for support boats is: June 30th 2021 12.3 The team coach boats have to comply with the coach boat regulations as defined in the Sailing Instructions. They must have a third-party liability insurance of 300.500€ worth. Team coach boats will be available for rent. More information on the official website of the championship coming soon. 13. DOCKING 13.1 Boats and team coach’s boat shall be placed exclusively inside the official area designated by the club. [DP] 14. TITLES AND PRIZES 14.1 The event prize giving will be held on July 29th after Racing on a “Champions Dinner” 14.2 Prizes will be noticed on the Virtual ONB and on the official website on July 25th. 4 / 7 15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 15.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk (RRS 4, Decision to Race). 15.2 The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. 16. INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 300.500€ per incident or equivalent. 17. RIGHTS TO USE NAME AND PICTURES Competitors automatically grant to the Organizing Authority and its Sponsors, without compensation, the perpetual right to make, use and show any text, motion pictures, video and still pictures, as well as live, taped or filmed television of, or relating to, the Event. 18. CHARTERED OR LOANED BOATS For chartered or loaned boats rule G3 will apply 19. These are termal winds that blow from the land towards the sea. Up to 15 knots in the early morning and decreasing to 5 knots at noon. Race Course BRAVO: It will be the área used with winds from a notherly direction. North in Vigo is strong, about 15-18 knots. It can also be sailed with westerly winds. Race Course CHARLIE: It is the bigger and most likely area for the Worlds as well the Test Event. Ideal for west and southwest winds. STADIUM Race Course: Suitable for activities and shows. 7 / 7 .

    Raced in Aid of Raced in Aid of Notice of Race for Steve Nicholson Memorial Trophy At Pitsford Reservoir on Saturday 26th January 2019 Competitors wishing to enter a class of boat not listed in Appendix SNT should please apply to [email protected] giving details of their proposed entry. If the race committee accept the class, it will be added to Appendix SNT and the prospective entrant will be notified by email. Please note any entry will still need to be made in the usual way and will be subject to the entry limit. Advertising will be allowed in accordance with the Class Rules of the competing classes. The races will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2017 – 2020, the RYA prescriptions, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions. If there is a conflict between this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions the Sailing Instructions take precedence. Competitors should note that Northampton Sailing Club implements the RYA Racing Charter and that you will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book. Conditions of Entry The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/competitor racing the boat, who must ensure that the boat and crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise during the race. Neither the sailing instructions, nor the inspection of the boat limits or reduces the absolute responsibility of the owner/competitor for his/her crew his/her boat and the management thereof.

    Sailing Instructions Open Dutch Championships 2014 International 470 Class 16 and 17 of august 2014 Venue, WV Scharendijke, Grevelingenmeer, near Scharendijke (NL) Organizing Authority: The races will be organised by Royal Yacht Club België, Koninklijke Watersport Vereniging De Kaag, Watersport Vereniging Scharendijke in conjunction with the involved Dutch 470 Class Organization. [DP] denotes a rule for which the penalty is at the discretion of the International Jury. [NP] denotes that a breach of this rule will not be grounds for a protest by a boat. 1. RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013-2016. The prescriptions of the Dutch National Authority will apply, together with the Class Rules of the International 470 Class. The Sailing Instructions may change some rules. 1.2 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. 1.3 Every person on board who has its domicile in the Netherlands shall have the required licenses. The licences will be checked before or upon registration. 1.4 Change of crew during the regatta is subject to approval by the race committee. Approval will not be given when the required licence cannot be shown. 1.5 The event is an integral part of the annual Benelux Championships. Other classes taking part in this event are: Laser Std./4.7 /Radial, Solo, Snipe, Contender, FD, FJ, Finn, RS500 and Vaurien. 2.
