This bibliography accompanies the article ‘Research on African (”…•…–…Œ•ˆ ˆ•‡‚‘ˆŒˆ, Blumenbach 1797): A Bibliography’ published in the African Journal of Ecology. Primarily the English literature was searched for references on the African but some French and German reference were also included. The following table is the same as in the published paper but provides more detailed information on the references. It should be noted that a large amount of research that has been conducted on the African elephant has been reported on in the form of so called ‘grey literature’, reports written for NGOs, research or government organisations. Consequently the following bibliography includes a large number of such references. It is hoped that this bibliography provides a good overview on the literature available on the African elephant and that it will aid scientists and students in their research.
