U.S. PENITENTIARY, EXECUTION GALLERY, 2011 - NIGHT Witnesses view the “Death Bed” through the window. Preparations for the execution of a pale, beautiful, Anglo woman, CATE TRAINER,(40). Restrained by shackles Cate looks gruffly through the crowd, her dragon green eyes lock onto a stern, conservative, business man, ED TRAINER (65). Trying to hide his fear Ed Trainer grips the hand of his distraught wife, DORA (63), who holds back brimming tears from her elegant eyes, she gasps-- DORA Our baby girl. It’s all your fault. INT. EXECUTION ROOM - CONTINUOUS The TEAM tightens her ankles and wrist straps. Cate looks at her mother. TRAINER Forgive me dear God, please forgive me. TITLE OVER: 2 Years Earlier EXT. AL-QUEDA SAFE HOUSE, WOODS - NIGHT METTA AL-HANJIA (40) a beautifully stoic, green-eyed Muslim woman grabs the hand of her sweet faced son Ameen (7) and drags him through the woods, not noticing that he is wearing his suicide bomber vest. FBI SWAT TEAMS have moved into place. She’s surrounded by the SWAT and throws her hands in the air. Ameen copies her. SWAT Down on the ground! They lie down. SWAT team moves in. She looks at Ameen and sees his vest. Bomb agents move in to disarm Ameen. Surrounded by Operatives with machine guns, she is captured and put under a black hood. SHADOW OF THE SWORD 2. EXT. SEMI TRUCK - VIRGINIA - NIGHT The bearded face of an alluring jihad warrior OAMR AL- HANJIA (42) drives a Semi Truck along the Wahhabi corridor. He is transporting a bomb. EXT. CIA HEADQUARTERS, LANGLEY, VA. - EVENING Exterior CIA building. INT. CIA HEADQUARTERS OBSERVATION ROOM - DAWN Metta sits alone. A mysterious voice, JOHN BROWN (40), an Emotional Intelligence Officer, comes out of the darkness. JOHN Who are you? METTA Uh, no, you first, who are you? A light blinds her vision. Metta is viewed through a two-way mirror. Trainer sees her for the first time. He gets on the microphone. TRAINER’S VOICE Cate? She doesn’t answer. TRAINER’S VOICE Cate, it’s your father. She adjusts. METTA/CATE Well, it’s about fucking time. INT. OBSERVATION ROOM - CONTINUOUS JOHN (40) Emotional Intelligence Officer observes. JOHN I’ll need a minimum of 3 days to deprogram her. TRAINER (off microphone) You have one. SHADOW OF THE SWORD 3. EXT. INTERSTATE, DC - NIGHT Omar drives the Truck along the highway into Washington DC. The Capitol building radiates in the background. INT. INTERROGATION ROOM - LATER Hours later, deep into the night METTA/CATE is sleep deprived and weak from the lack of food and water. CATE I’m telling you the truth. I’ve been under cover, part of a terrorist network, a sleeper cell. Omar is the God damn cell * leader. JOHN Why should I believe you? CATE Look the whole time, Omar thought he was using me, but I was using him. JOHN For seven years? CATE Omar never succeeded, I did. I was never * brain washed. And I’m not lying now. * JOHN Can you prove it? CATE I don’t have to prove it, I am the God damn C.I.fucking-A! John is stumped. CATE What the hell time is it? Looks at his watch but doesn’t say. CATE There’s no time for this psychobabble. Get me my father Edwin Trainer now! The door opens, Cate’s father enters. He stays in CIA mode and avoids embracing her. CATE Jesus Dad, get me out of here, any minute Omar’s going to ignite Holy War. And when I say ignite I mean blow us all to hell! SHADOW OF THE SWORD 4. TRAINER When? CATE Now! 10,000 degrees in the fucking shade. INT. HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS. * Trainer and John regroup. JOHN I think she’s trying to get back to Omar and help execute the jihad? TRAINER Use the needle. JOHN Narco. I don’t think we have to jump- TRAINER Use it now. EXT. WAREHOUSE, DC - DAWN Omar drives the Semi-Truck into the Zabiha Slaughtering House. INT. ZABIHA SLAUGHTERING HOUSE - CONTINUOUS Omar’s cousin AKMAD (45) opens the back of the truck. In the background of the warehouse, Omar sees an old Muslim butcher, flicking his sharpened knife, slicing the necks of goats. He cries out in the name of Allah, as the animals are killed. His Helper immediately hoists the animals by their feet on hooks to drain the blood. AKMAD Here’s the address to the Mosque. They synchronize their watches. JOHN Cate, this is the CIA’s Psychological Warfare Specialist, Raja al-Fayed. Cate stops. RAJA I have spent 15 years with the Army serving Prisoners of War-- CATE Oh excellent. Then you know. Get me out of here. It’s the only way to stop the bomb. INT. C.I.A. HEADQUARTERS, OBSERVATION ROOM - CONTINUOUS Trainer and STAFF watch the session. In conclusion, the court upheld the plaintiffs' claims for an injunction against the publishing and sale of these books, and for the disposal of said books, and also partially upheld their claims for damages. In this case, the plaintiffs, who are members of idol groups, alleged that the defendant published and sold books while using the plaintiffs' photos in these books without their authorization, and thereby infringed their rights to exclusively use the customer appeal of their portraits, etc., as well as what is generally known as portrait rights. Accordingly, the plaintiffs sought an injunction against the publishing and sale of these books, demanded the disposal of said books, and claimed damages. In accordance with the gist of the judgment of the First Petty Bench of the Supreme Court of February 2, 2012, Minshu Vol. 66, No. 2, at 89, the court referred to a person's right to exclusively use the customer appeal of his/her own portrait, etc. as a publicity right and stated that this right is one of the rights derived from a right of personality. Boku desu.”: Negosiasi Maskulinitas dalam Citra Idola Sakurai Sho Bawuk Respati, S.Sn., M.Si [email protected] Abstract Japanese male idols can be seen as a manifestation of the idea of​​masculinity that can be found in Japanese society. The image of an idol is complex, so the values ​​of masculinity that are manifested are complex. This is reflected in the image of Sakurai Sho, a member of the Arashi idol group, who not only appears in the context of himself as an idol, by holding concerts, but also works regularly as a newscaster in a television news program. By referring to the concept of hegemonic masculinity, which is manifested in the salaryman figure in Japan, as well as the concept of male idol gender performance which is considered as an alternative form of masculinity in Japan, it is found that in the construction of Sakurai Sho image, there is a negotiation process between values dominant masculinity with alternative masculinity values. The negotiations mainly arose in the intertextual relationship between a number of media texts that formed the overall image of Sakurai Sho. Negotiations in this intertextuality show that masculinity is not a permanent entity.     The “Pop Pacific” Japanese-American Sojourners and the Development of Japanese Popular Music By Jayson Makoto Chun The year 2013 proved a record-setting year in Japanese popular music. The male idol group Arashi occupied the spot for the top-selling album for the fourth year in a row, matching the record set by female singer Utada Hikaru. Arashi, managed by Johnny & Associates, a talent management agency specializing in male idol groups, also occupied the top spot for artist total sales while seven of the top twenty-five singles (and twenty of the top fifty) that year also came from Johnny & Associates groups (Oricon 2013b).1 With Japan as the world’s second largest music market at US$3.01 billion in sales in 2013, trailing only the United States (RIAJ 2014), this talent management agency has been one of the most profitable in the world. Across several decades, Johnny Hiromu Kitagawa (born 1931), the brains behind this agency, produced more than 232 chart-topping singles from forty acts and 8,419 concerts (between 2010 and 2012), the most by any individual in history, according to Guinness World Records, which presented two awards to Kitagawa in 2010 (Schwartz 2013), and a third award for the most number-one acts (thirty-five) produced by an individual (Guinness World Record News 2012). Beginning with the debut album of his first group, Johnnys in 1964, Kitagawa has presided over a hit-making factory.     Dopisy z Iwo Jimy Před jedenašedesáti lety se na Iwo Jimě utkaly americká a japonská armáda. O několik desetiletí později bylo v lávové půdě ostrova objeveno několik stovek dopisů. Tyto dopisy pojednou dávají anonymním šikům bojujících vojáků tváře a hlasy, a rovněž jejich vynikajícímu veliteli, který je vedl. Japonští vojáci, kteří jsou odveleni na Iwo Jimu, si uvědomují, že pravděpodobnost návratu z bitevního pole je mizivá. Jedním z nich je i bývalý pekař Saigo (Kazunari Ninomiya), který žije jen proto, aby mohl spatřit svou nedávno narozenou dceru; dále olympionik a šampión Baron Nishi (Tsuyoshi Ihara), který je znám pro své skvělé nadání pro jezdectví a je držitelem nejedné ceny; mladý armádní policista Shimizu (Ryo Kase), jehož idealizmus dosud nebyl zakalen peklem války; a přísný poručík Ito (Shidou Nakamura), který by raději spáchal sebevraždu, než by se vzdal. Velitelem obrany je generál Tadamichi Kuribayashi (Ken Watanabe), jehož cesty po Americe mu ukázaly nemilosrdnou tvář války, ale vedly jej i k pochopení toho, jak Američanům v Tichomoří zabránit v další expanzi. Díky Kuribayashiho nevídané taktice se boje, které si Američané představovali jako rychlou a krvavou porážku, protáhly na čtyřicet dní hrdinné a vynalézavé obrany. Podařilo se to i kvůli tomu, že Kuribayashiho bojovníci dokonale zvládla orientaci v prostoru vulkanického ostrova. Na Iwo Jimě zahynulo přibližně 7 tisíc amerických vojáků, na japonské straně dosáhly ztráty více než 20 tisíc pěších. Iwo Jimské pláže plné černého písku jsou dodnes prosycené jejich krví. Jejich oběť, vnitřní boje, odvaha a soucit se obtiskly do dopisů, které posílali domů a o několik destiletí později vyšly v knižní podobě.

This year marKs the eighth year of the project. Soon after the Great East Japan Earthquake, electricity shortage became a big social issue. As an expression of support for the affecteD areas, WAKU-WAKU SCHOOL OF ARASHI events Do not use electricity. The school theme was chosen to Deliver a message in Keeping with the Arashi image, in hopes of bringing a smile to all those who came. The idea is the brainchilD of Mr. Kundo Koyama. The members of Arashi become teachers, each in charge of one of 5 classes. (Members who aren’t teaching participate in the classes as stuDents.) Content was createD arounD the concept of "awareness", highlighting the fact that small things that are often overlooKeD can actually be very important. The main theme of WAKU-WAKU SCOOL OF ARASHI is "Daily Awareness". Through WAKU-WAKU SCOOL OF ARASHI, the members themselves have DevelopeD a reneweD awareness of things arounD them, while also being able to show their continueD support over the past eight years.
