9 SPOTLIGHT ON COUNCILLOR DANIELA CRICK

We came to live in Boreham in 1989, Flower House Florist with my friend, after buying a ‘space’ from Tarmac Vanessa Martyn. As my children Homes in 1988 as Shearers Way was moved onto Boreham Primary School, being constructed. After surviving the I found myself on the Board of property crash, we made the long Governors and running the Allotment Association for the Church Field Allotments. When Jackie Lane joined the Parish Council as Clerk I was given the opportunity to join the Parish Council Staff on a more formal basis and was given more roles and responsibilities including setting up the Allotments at The Lion Inn and starting the Parish Walks which continue to be successful. As our distance move to Boleyn Way in 1989 florist business became more and have been here ever since. At successful I had to make the tough that time I worked in the City as a decision to resign from the Parish Claims Broker in Non Marine Council to give more time to the Insurance working mainly in the construction industry (what I don’t know about Tunnel Boring Machines is not worth knowing) moving onto Associate Claims Director until I left to have our family. We now have two adult children, who throughout their childhood, involved us in all aspects of village life. In 2001, Marie Brown ‘convinced’ me to take on a ‘little part time job’ of Minute Secretary for the Parish Council when my guard was down getting my baby daughter weighed at the doctors! And then also managed to get me to help run the mother and toddler group and join the Village Hall Committee seemingly without me noticing.
