Brigjend. H. HasanBasry, Kota Banjarmasin, 70123 Email: [email protected] Abstrak Gastropoda tersebar luas di kawasan pesisir, salah satunya pesisir Pulau Sembilan Kotabaru. Kawasan ini masih tergolong alami dan terdapat terumbu karang. Beberapa titik terumbu karang mulai mengalami kerusakan. Terumbu dan batu karang di zona eulitoral merupakan habitat alami gastropoda. Gastropoda terbagi menjadi tiga ordo, dua diantaranya adalah Ordo Mesogastropoda dan Ordo Neogastropoda belum didokumentasikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melanjutkan dokumentasi spesies gastropoda (Mesogastropoda dan Neogastropoda) dan menganalisis indeks keanekaragamannya. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan luas plot 1 m2, sebanyak 20 plot, di sepanjang seratus meter mengikuti garis pantai. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah nama spesies dan jumlah individu setiap spesies. Berdasarkan data tersebut ditentukan indeks keanekaragaman menggunakan persamaan Shannon-Wienner. Ditemukan lima spesies dari Ordo Mesogastropoda dan dua spesies dari Ordo Neogastropoda.Indeks keanekaragaman (H’) Mesogastropoda dan Neogastropoda adalah 1.620 dengan kategori sedang, artinya ekosistem di kawasan tersebut tergolong stabil. Kata Kunci: Keanekaragaman; Mesogastropoda; Neogastropoda; Pesisir; Kotabaru Abstract Snails Diversity of Mesogastropod and Neogastropod Order at the Eulittoral Zone of Coastal Area Pulau Sembilan, Kotabaru Regency Gastropods are widespread in the coastal area, one of which is the coast of Pulau Sembilan Kotabaru. This area is still relatively natural, and there are coral reefs. Some points of coral reefs began to suffer damage. Reefs and rocks in the eulittoral zone are natural gastropod habitats. Gastropods are divided into three orders, two of which are mesogastropod orders, and the neogastropod order has not been documented. This study aims to continue the documentation of gastropod species (Mesogastropods and Neogastropods) and analyze their diversity index. Data were collected by purposive sampling technique with a plot area of 1 m2, as many as 20 plots, along a hundred meters following the coastline. The data collected is the name of the species and the number of individuals in each species. Based on these data the diversity index is determined using the Shannon-Wiener equation. Five species of the mesogastropod order and two species of the neogastropod order were found. The Mesogastropod and Neogastropod diversity index (H') is 1,620 in the medium category, meaning that the ecosystem in the region is classified as stable. RANDALL,2 AND ALFREDO CEA3 ABSTRACT Stomach contents of 42 species in 25 familes of Easter Island shore fishes were examined in comparative terms to determine prey items and feeding behavior at this isolated island outpost in the southeastern Pacific. The island’s impoverished marine fauna and flora have resulted in considerable dietary overlap among the inshore fishes. Some endemic species appear to feed mainly on endemic invertebrates. Some prey species which were found in the fish stomachs, such as the stomatopodOdontodactylus hawaiiensis, the pandalid shrimp Plesionika edwardsi, and several tiny molluscs were previously unrecorded for the island. INTRODUCTION Easter Island (Rapa Nui) lies 3750 km west of the South American continent and 2250 km. East of the Pitcairn Islands. This island represents the most isolated landfall in the South Pacific Ocean along with its small rocky neighbor Salas y Gómez I. 415 km to the east. Although Easter Island is often regarded as part of the Indo-Pacific region, and most of its fauna consist of tropical species (in the case of shore fishes, 32.5%), it lies outside the 20° isotherm (Wells 1957) where seawater temperature and insolation are below that required for the development of structural coral reefs; water temperature can undergo interannual drops unfavorable to tropical organisms and may produce mass mortalities of corals (Wellington et al., 2001).

Sixty-eight species, comprising 19% of the fauna, are thought to be endemic to the Kermadec Islands. Oppomorus Iredale, 1937, Azumamorula Emerson, 1968, and Habromorula Houart, 1995 are reviewed and considered as subgenera of Morula Schumacher, 1817. Morula is transfered from Rapaninae Gray, 1853 to Ergalataxinae Kuroda, Habe & Oyama, 1971, chiefly on basis of différences of shell, operculum and radula morphology. One species of Oppomorus, one oï Azumamorula and fifteen oï Habromorula are reviewed and illustrated. The spiral cords and the aperture morphology is illustrated for most of the species. Morula (Habromorula) whiteheadae is described from West Australia. A new name is given to M (Morula) striata (Pease, 1 868), not M (Habromorula) striata (Pease, 1868). One attempt to promote tourism is throcugh the biodiversity of its fauna. This study aims are to summarize the diversity of gastropoda and made a checklist to make it easier studied. Museum collections and twenty-four works of literature were used as the data source. A total of 73 families and 292 species of gastropoda were documented from 29 locations. About 29% of them have their representation in the museum collections. The list dominated by marine (65%), following by terrestrial (15%), mangrove (6%), and freshwater species (5%). Twenty-two species are new records for Lombok Island. The most diverse family, Neritidae, which occupies wider habitat is represented by nine percent. Littoraria scabra is the most widely distributed species which occurs in 12 locations. The five most diverse locations were marine habitats which popular for tourism destinations. This study contributes to the development of marine ecotourism in Lombok. Nevertheless, consideration of the forms obtained from the Dundas dump, and the results of a few successful finds, necessitate a number of notes, and a large number of records has accrued. Reid Australian Museum Research Institute Abstract Marine invertebrates, excluding decapod Crustacea, collected during the Kermadec Biodiscovery Expedition 2011 are documented. Five hundred and nine taxa, including 170 species, are recorded, principally from samples of substrate obtained from depths of less than 30 metres, although results from limited intertidal and deeper sampling are also included. The highest diversity of taxa was found at Raoul and satellite islands but this is interpreted as reflecting sampling bias. The collection reinforces previously reported patterns of faunal connectivity being strongest with the tropical and subtropical southwest Pacific. Significant discoveries to date include the recognition of approximately 20 undescribed species, 44 species distribution records that are new for New Zealand waters, an additional 25 higher level (genus or family) range extensions into New Zealand waters and 27 species distribution records that are new for the Kermadec Islands. These results indicate that there is considerable scope for further discoveries in attempts to document the diversity of the invertebrate fauna in the nearshore marine environment of the Kermadec Islands.
