FIAT CENTENARIO LIMITED EDITION TRACTORS 100 Years FIAT CENTENARIO LIMITED EDITION TRACTORS 100 Years. A Fiat tractor centenary. Wednesday 14th August 1918, in the countryside surrounding Turin, Italy, marked an important milestone for the then 19 year old Fiat Corporation. On this misty morning, the first official field trials were held for the model that would become known as the Fiat 702. The assembled audience, including Giovanni Agnelli, one of Fiat’s legendary founders, was accompanied by members of the government to witness this feat. In the Autumn of the same year, the first production 702s rolled off the production line in Corso Dante, central Turin, and the rest, as they say is history. Throughout the 1920s and 1930s Fiat helped mechanize first European and then world agriculture. The 702 proved its worth, winning ploughing matches across the globe and was the first in a line of iconic models. Fiat quickly realised the potential for exporting agricultural excellence, and developed a range of technologically advanced tractors including crawlers and tractors adapted for orchards and vineyards. The end of World War II heralded the advent of mass production for Fiat tractors, and the company’s terracotta machines were produced in ever increasing numbers, bristling with more features and becoming more powerful. Historic series such as the Piccola, the 90-Series and Winner ranges cemented Fiat’s agricultural prowess. To celebrate a century of Fiat Tractors, New Holland has reconceived a Fiat tractor for the modern farmer – distilling the very essence of Fiat’s agricultural heritage and reimagining it for the modern day. Based on an iconic Pininfarina-designed 90 Series, this concept is an eye-catching metallic terracotta colour and features distinctive white grilles, reminiscent of its ancestors. Key styling cues such as the terracotta leaf emblazoned on the hood, have been replicated throughout the design. A stylized aluminium and leather leaf has been crafted into an elegant seat. We are reminded of this important centenary year, with the 100 years’ embossed into the floor and 1918 and 2018 have been stamped into the rear fenders. This cabless concept recalls the very first 702 from 1918, and the minimalist ergonomic controls offer intuitive operation. The forged aluminium pedals, similar to those used in racing cars, add a touch of modern luxury. 06 07 A ‘century’ of limited editions New Holland has developed a strictly limited production run of one hundred units of five distinct tractor ranges to give Fiat tractor aficionados a chance to own a piece of tractor history. The T5.120 Electro Command, T5.115, T4.110LP, T4.110F and the crawler TK4.110 comprise this exclusive group which will be decked-out in true Fiat tractor style. The individually numbered, high-spec units, benefit from the same metallic terracotta paint of the Centenario concept, and cabbed versions will feature a historic white roof. A dynamic white line running down the hood is combined with bespoke hood artwork, which takes inspiration from the both the 90-Series and the Centenario concept itself. A stylised 100 years’ logo and traditional brown cloth seat complete the package. 08 T5.120 Electro Command Modern mixed and livestock farmers need to be flexible, and a tractor capable of multitasking is a must.
